Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Verizon Has A Socialist Pay Structure

You mean no matter how hard I work I get the same pay? Yes!

If I have the best numbers in the company and the worst rep in the company works in my store. Are you telling me we get paid the same? Yes!

So you are going to motivate me by paying me exactly the same as the worst rep in the company? Yes!

Hmmm? That makes sense. Great leadership. How about we start a carpool and I’ll drive every day, buy you breakfast and never pay me for gas.

Okay… No Vaseline?

I’m planning on changing right after the first of the year. Getting out of retail all together

Socialism is by definition when workers own the means of production.

Verizon is not worker owned.

Verizon has a capitalist pay structure that centers around paying its employees as little as it can get away with so that it can extract as much profit off of your labor as possible so that fat cats can line their pockets.

Agreed. I have been told that in an effort to get newer employees in line with my pay, I would only be receiving 1-2% raise and was rated performing or leading last 3 years. I am near cap, not at cap. It’s socialist behavior.

That pay structure was designed for millenials and the culture of fairness. You will also notice the flattening of the leadership structure at some point due to millenials having an issue anyone in a position with authority.

For a company that wants recognition for how they treat the front line.. this is embarrassing.

Yeah. It’s about hit the breaking point. Losing another employee with each month that goes by… slaving away pushing boxes day after day. I can’t hit team quota by myself.
