Does anyone know if Lincoln Financial approves medical leaves for emotional illnesses (such as a major depressive episode), or is it only for physical conditions?
I'm asking here because people ask all sorts of otherwise uncomfortable questions here, and more importantly because I don't feel like including management yet. If I went straight to Lincoln with a claim, I'd have to first tell my manager I'm considering leave, etc and I don't want to do that unless I'm reasonably sure that I'll actually be able to take the leave.
I thought there was a law about 10 years ago giving mental health equal parity with physical health as it pertains to insurance, but I'm not the expert.
(And, I can already hear all the "toughen up" responses, and I guess that's just what goes along with posting here, but it's worth it if one person can provide accurate insight.)
