Layoffs just hit several members of my group and I was not chosen. 😡

A lot of those people being laid off are devastated because they truly loved their job and don't WANT to go somewhere else. Then we are stuck with people like you taking up space in our headcount. If you don't want to work at Wells Fargo, revamp your resume, network, brush up on your interview skills and start applying. But to answer your original question-YES, it sounds like you will be the last one standing before they turn the lights off at this company and you will have no one to blame but yourself. The strategy of hoping/waiting to be laid off is absurd. They can and will adjust the severance benefit to make it more budget friendly for themselves (They have already been doing this) and it takes AT LEAST 6 months on average to find a new job. Being laid off is not a paid vacation. You're better off leaving on your own accord and not dealing with a potential gap in pay/unemployment etc.

It certainly worked for me. Mature adults having an off-the-record conversation is better than complaining on an anonymous internet site. Makes me wonder where it all went wrong.
OP this post is so incredibly insensitive on a layoff forum. If you're so ready to be laid off then tell your manager so. Do you really think they (meaning your direct manager and 1 above) WANT to decide who in their org is laid off? In many instances the answer is no. For those that think HR or someone without any knowledge of the organization is selecting those that are laid off that is simply not true. It is required to be the direct and 1 up manager, period. HR and others are involved from a review perspective. before anyone blasts this as untrue, I work in HR. So OP put your money where your mouth is and I'll wager you'll be on the next round, congrats!

There is not much logic to who got hit. If you're a WF employee there is a target on your back. Operate as such.
Chainsaw is definitely going to slash bonuses so don't pray to stick around for it. They'll just bring up fake criticism in the annual review to justify revoking it or just say "company policy".
So many in our group laid off today. Are all those being laid off long-timers living in CA? Some were awesome and had just been promoted. Rough day.
I was laid off today in Wealth group. Half our roles were eliminated. Total surprise and shock. 20 years with the company.

Tell them you want:
double vacation
double pay
And if not, well, time to request personal leave or file a FMLA and off work for a year.
They will beg you to stay and agree to about anything

I cannot tell the group unfortunately.
Why am I mad? Because other people can now search full time for a job with pay and now I may have to pick up the slack, reducing time for my own job search.
If you're gonna get rid of me do it NOW and stop trying to get me to quit. I gave years to this company and they're gonna pay what I'm OWED!
