Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Can you collect displacement money in regular checks AND collect unemployment in Illinois at the same time??

Asking for a friend. If so, any negatives doing that? Won't affect package pay outs? Tried to call HR but it was useless trying to get someone on the phone.

In many states you can collect both. It's not a rip off. If WF were to pay you lump sum upon separation then you could collect unemployment. The fact that they pay you every two weeks for a period of time doesn't change your employment status. It just lets you keep some benefits intact during the severance period.

Apparently you can collect both in Illinois. Your friend is lucky.
