They'll be doing me a favor at this point. I'm tired of hoping things will change for the better as things keep getting worse and worse. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. I think voluntary layoff would be the best thing for WFC to offer right now. There are more than enough people who would be happy to take the offer, and those who want to stay would be unaffected. It's a win/win.

OP- I understand what you’re saying but this is what CS and his cronies basically hear you saying:
“Yes, I will mow your yard for $20.” Then, five minutes later, “I don’t wanna. Just give me my $20 so I can go home.”
In what world does this make sense? The company is not going to pay you severance for a job you aren’t willing to do. You are describing the definition of QUITTING.
So quit.
Do you get unemployment if they were to offer voluntary lay off? I don't think so.
That would put too much control in the hands of the employees. It will never happen.

According to a survey I saw yesterday, 79% of people either never left or are already back in the office. With vaccines so readily available, we'll see a vaccine mandate and be back before year end. We're actually lucky that we're not back already.
That would cost them money.
Better to get people to quit on their own - that way, no severance.
Easy to do - force them back to office in middle of pandemic. Now employee has to make a choice - not bring disease home or income.
To understand these priks you gotta think like a sociopath.
I wish it were voluntary. I would still have my job there.
