Word is out that this will be the month for RSP displacement at the bank! Their bosses went thorough downsizing earlier this summer. This was a job I always aspired to grow into. I have had many RSPs during my time at Wells and often they were the only leader that actual spent time with me as a teller and a banker to encourage me to develop my skills and knowledge and become a better branch banker! I certainly hope they retain the RSP I have had the opportunity to work with the last 5 years. I wonder why oh why the bank needs so many project managers, yet they continue to eliminate this who assist face to face in our branches? This may be yet another example of poor corporate leadership!

Executives, domestic contractors, and internal folks based in the Philippines and India. That's the Charlie way. Probably just a matter of time before "tellers" are just screens at the counter and the customer video chats with a guy in India or a computer generated Max Headroom AI 'guy'. You know the leadership would love to fire all the domestic tellers/bankers.
Whoa. Why the attack on project managers? They have nothing to do with branch staffing. PM jobs are on the chopping block, too. Being replaced by scrum masters.
To answer your question, as long as the bank continues to have projects (or programs or products or whatever else you want to call it this week) there will be a need for someone to manage that work.
It’s turning out that Charlie’s restructuring strategy is for WFC to be all executives, with no one to do the actual work. Hopefully Charlie’s buddies know how to process a loan, work a drive-up window, sell a bond, underwire an IPO, and solve problems with the system.
