Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Team Member Networks are now Employee Resource Networks

I find it ironic that the DE&I group responsible for fostering an inclusive work environment would be a driving factor to rid the organization of anything referring to “Team Member” and replace it with “Employee “ or “Resource”.

Religion has plenty of other places to gather outside the workplace.

No business wants to deal with that slippery slope. They would have to recognize the church of Elvis and the Knights of Jedi, among other things.

@ned+1cJp9M8b, there's chapters all over. I'm not promoting them in the least, but I like these tenets a lot better than the Ten Commandments (and there's not one mention of Satan in here):

  1. I

One should strive to act with compassion and empathy toward all creatures in accordance with reason.

  1. II

The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions.

  1. III

One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone.

  1. IV

The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo one's own.

  1. V

Beliefs should conform to one's best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one's beliefs.

  1. VI

People are fallible. If one makes a mistake, one should do one's best to rectify it and resolve any harm that might have been caused.

  1. VII

Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word.

Religions? Why not? I'm all for the Church of Satan Employee Resource Network. They have some pretty cool tenets.

@ vuw how right you are. I can’t “be myself” or “share my true self at work” either because my views are more conservative than the blatant anti-family and religion rhetoric that is constantly thrown around now. I guess it can be a diversity dimension just not one accepted here at Wells Fargo..

and no mention of religion as a diversity dimension and employee networks are not allowed to form on the basis of religion - I guess those with a religious belief system cannot really be who they are fully at work - but you are embraced if you are a man with a p3nis and te$ticles who dresses as a woman, you might even be promoted because you are a victim. palm to face

Another example of Charlie promoting his “every man for himself” philosophy. He does not place a value on his employees (especially US employees) or team building or collaboration among his employees.

He wants us disenfranchised, distracted, uninformed and at each other’s throats. All of his methods give him more power and his employees less. He only knows how to manage from the top down, in an old-school hierarchical fashion. The entire leadership team, including the BOD, are a bunch of outdated self- interested has-been.

(I’m a Boomer, FYI. Being outdated is not always an age thing - it’s an inability to view the ever changing world from a fresh perspective.)

What exactly was the problem using Team Member to refer to the people working at Wells Fargo that needed to be fixed by now referring to us as Employees or Resources? Bueller?…Bueller?
