Displaced in May. Just received an email saying the STAR program is accepting no new applications out openings effective June 9 (today is June 20th), and that all existing STAR roles will end by 12/17. What's the cost savings?

@1ntj, you were working for Wells (or acquired bank/merger partner) since you were 15 or younger???
But Charlie doesn’t need STAR
Wait a minute
Ohhhhhhh
@1hzh+1bzSZBgr
Charlie needs STAR is like you need help with being stupid
I used it because I was a 40+ year employee but was short of being 55 that was a criteria to retire with benefits. This was a life saver for me.
The program didn't offer any opportunities for most laid off workers anyway, in my experience. I can see why they want to get rid of it. Its another good example of how bad apples sc--w things up for everyone.
No fat off my hog. I could never find anything through there anyway.
It just goes to show that they want people to leave to make their stock payouts higher when they bail after trashing this place.
Heard on an SVB call that Star has been cancelled because of the implied risk of having laid off workers getting access to other parts of the business. Makes sense IMO. With so many disgruntled workers around, best just remove all access and say goodbye.
The STAR program was invented to offer air cover and a few months if employment for favored employees. Chainsaw would be a great STAR candidate.
This got brought up on the last Saul Call. Around 15 minutes in.
Looks to me like there a lot of Chicago and NY Democrats on here whining. Nancy Pelosi sympathizers who think they're owed a blue ribbon and trophy for showing up to work.
So whiners and haters still want to work for Wells??? Too funny!
The STAR program was a nice way for people to bridge the gap to their next job and keep benefits like insurance. It would be interesting to hear from someone in HR about why it is going away
@rzt+1bzSZBgr. Why do you want people to come back and work for Wells. Isn’t Wells a horrible place to work for? Respect yourself first, Wells does not care about what you think.
Why should anyone cares about STAR program? Why anyone here wants to come back when they hate Wells so much?
STAR employees generally but not always were hired back in at the same pay they were making. Also once your gone for 12 months and than if hired back you start over.
How typical that they make this notification several weeks after the application deadline. Screwed with displacement, then screwed again.
Interesting. There is currently one star position posted - usually there are more.
Not everyone gets a blue ribbon or a trophy.
They are now letting go of people they don't want to hire back. The STAR positions are being filled by managers they were forced to let go of (and who were really bad managers but they were good at kissing rear). STAR for everyone else being let go is just a bad business plan for them in their eyes now.
I do not respect what they are doing.
