Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

I was displaced last December. I took my 60 days and severance and then began in earnest to seek employment. At 62, it was challenging to be sure but in the same day last week, I received TWO amazing offers, decided on one and I start after the July 4th holiday.

Better pay, better benefits and working remotely, not having to deal with the negative culture and people I dealt with at Wells. I heard from one of my former team members that they displaced the District Manager and were looking to hire THREE new bankers at the location I was based out of. Yeah... Good luck. I wouldn't recommend WF to anyone after my experience.

Can confirm, IT job market is hot.

As someone who recently left, I keep telling former co-workers to look while the market is hot. I had 4 WFH offers and got into a great company. If you are reasonably good at your job and not looking at retirement in the near future, get out there and look. That is, unless, you don’t have the requisite skills. That seems to be the people who will be left until they can replace them with cheaper, more trainable people.

I also agree with the other poster, the tasks here are by no means technical, they are more non technical work and mundane, dead end job

I seriously am beginning to think this dream job person is a corporate shill who wants to soften the layoff talk because it gives the company bad PR. As it should.

I hope everyone laid off complains to every newspaper, TV and social media outlet out there. The public needs to know about this underhanded cr-p these companies have been doing to American workers for 20 years.

I was cut from Wells Fargo and landed a job with more pay and less cr-p , they're out there you just gotta look..

99% of people on this board are just to lazy to do a search. Once a company starts playing with your job title and giving admin types and offshore the same job title and your doing all the work, that's a sign, get out of dodge.

I left recently and have discovered a new world. I actually enjoy my tasks/responsibilities, love the technology, and love the culture...all the things I hated at WF. Good luck with your job search, hold out for something you love, not something that pays a little more.

yea great post, I was thinking I am the only one in the US interviewing; i have so many interviews, i almost know what areas each one will cover now. I have several offers but have my dream job and company interview coming up so will see how it goes there and make my final decision.
