The brutal recent news pictures of all of the India covid death cremations burning at the stake will not erase from our memories. Dead India covid corpses floating in the India rivers downstream. Gross. Now their deadly Delta covid variant is spreading in the USA. I say NO RETURN TO WORK WHILE THE MOST CONTAGIOUS, MOST DEADLY INDIA DELTA COVID VARIANT IS SPREADING NOW IN THE USA. Not that many USA citizens have been fully vaccinated against Covid, less than 50% of adults.

The highly contagious Delta variant could soon become the dominant strain of coronavirus in the U.S., the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Friday.
“It’s more transmissible than the Alpha variant, or the U.K. variant, that we have here,” Dr. Rochelle Walensky told ABC News in an interview on “Good Morning America.” “We saw that quickly become the dominant strain in a period of one or two months, and I anticipate that is going to be what happens with the Delta strain here.”
The Delta variant, also known as B.1.617.2, is the most worrying of the lineage of the virus, wreaking havoc earlier this year in India, where it was first identified in late 2020. Since then, the variant has spread to almost 70 countries, including the U.S.
The latest CDC data estimates the Delta variant makes up 9.9% of reported U.S. Covid-19 cases, while Alpha stands at 65.5%. It is difficult to know the real prevalence of new coronavirus variations due to the relatively low amounts of genetic analysis being done on the virus.
Delta is already the dominant strain in the U.K., where a rise in new Covid-19 cases linked to the variant recently prompted Prime Minister Boris Johnson to postpone a planned lifting of public-health restrictions by four weeks.
Why would you want to stay home?
With half the developers working from India in a different time zone, only at most 1/2 the teams will be together in a hub. Add the 1000s that we support scattered all over the world, this makes no sense…high cost NY/NJ real estate are totally worth it, right? Funny how Charlie says things are better in person and we can “pop our head into a meeting “: let’s be real, I’ve never once in 20 years had someone pop their head in. And most importantly, most that work in offices are in meetings all day, talking to their teams scattered around the country so why invest time, money, and pollution to come into a office just for that. Counting down on when the India Delta Covid variant hits the USA really hard. CDC has sent warnings it is already spreading in the USA, and 80 other countries. CDC states that the Covid vaccines may not protect people from the new deadlier, more infectious India Delta Covid variant strain. NO BACK TO THE OFFICE ANYTIME SOON. New problem has arisen with Covid. It is not over, but just beginning again in the USA and all over Earth with the new deadly India (well that is where it came from) Delta strain. Recent news article pictures of India burning their masses of dead due to covid Delta variant come to mind.
What if you have never worked in an office? The cost of living difference is so great I'd rather work for another company that allows remote work. Especially in IT where everyone else is remote no matter where you sit.
Why not. Front line bankers and tellers have been in the office for over a year. You should be too. If not, quit.
Morgan Stanley is a company not known for sense in the first place in business circles, and that apparently starts at the top.
