CLT cut all QA under Matt Rider/Rich Edwards for the Mortgage application CORE. 200+ effective.
@3sfc+1bmqr4aF Non technical as in not a software engineer title? Scrum Master - not technical; Systems QA Associate - not technical in title, but for some, definitely technical in function. Tech Bus Services Associate - either former non-technical support in an engineering group, or a former business PM, or a former technical PSG PM - so it is really a mix of functions and titles.
Also heard that if someone is not assigned to a Journey/scrum, they are at risk. Any ideas?
Is this really a surprise or an unbelievable event for those in Tech Operations? Ole SVB and the now Late-Er PM have been screaming for months about eliminating tiers, combining support towers. You can’t do all that and then keep all of us fat heads in one big ole group. My team was told at-least 60 days ago a reorg was coming if we hadn’t already assumed it.
I’m not sure about operations, but the Flying Dutchman really wants to reduce everyone that isn’t a software developer or scrum master.
Now let me take a sip of my coffee.
Anyone heard anything about SORM?
More information on Operations, please.
Heard some rumors about the June layoff - it’s supposed to be a big one affecting non-technical positions in Technology. Now let me take a sip of my coffee.
Not the two personal holidays. They have different rules. Not paid out at end of employment, not able to carry over, and have no accrual period. Jan 1 they are available to you. Dec 31 they go away if you didn’t use.

Not sure if I follow - if it's accrued but not taken, you get paid for it when the 60 days is up. Is this not the case?
If you suspect you may be cut next week, be sure to use up your personal holiday PTO beforehand. I heard it is not the same as regular PTO and is a net loss when laid off.
It’s only fair if our international groups are proportionally cut. However, we know that is not reality. The percentage of foreign workers continues to creep up while jobs on US soil decline … they can’t say we don’t have talent onshore when they are replacing us with the exact same roles overseas.
I hear people in the banking sector will also be affected.
@2gcf+1bmqr4aF - If you are the OP and answered the request for more details, thank you. If not, thanks as well. Do you happen to know whether this round will extend to technology and groups under CM and JS?
@2gcf, when you say operations, any particular group you are talking about?
First hand knowledge of Operations impact on 6/24. So yes, it's a date that will be round of layoffs. People are correct that "layoffs happen all the time" but that's usually individual positions here and there. By and large they do group larger scale layoffs and site shut-downs together and those larger layoff operations tend to be a quarterly affair. The layoff team has to much work to handle as it is, so they need to organize the process into some kind of segments to manage it with minimal sc--w ups.
DMI - Department of Merry Idlers
@2gmi+1bmqr4aF - looks like it is about time DMI is canned. Third party program is another area of fat. And then our eternal testing favorites - enterprise testing, independent testing and other second lines .
Major DMI layoff coming. Major
@1biu+1bmqr4aF, whew. You heard nothing, so that means all is well. Appreciate the comforting words!
With 25000 in Technology, I’m sure there are some affected.
@1jyd+1bmqr4aF I am in IT and I heard nothing. So much fake news here
More cuts in PA/CC are coming next week.
Amazed they are talking about cuts in technology when they have been dealing with short staffing for so long. No wonder they will have to corral the troops, they will be taking on even more work.
You have to love the bad decisions made by this management. They failed at Chase and it is circling the drain again here. But they will be gone with their golden parachute when the plane crashes just as they have before.
i have heard there will be cuts in technology. managers are having to take training (get it done, like now...) to prepare for the cuts. they may have to have a meeting to corral the troops after the employee(s) are impacted.
So many cuts and changes coming. Hope everyone has been preparing
It's kind of a sad commentary on the tenuousness of our job security when a poster that clearly has no inside information (other than figuring out the last Thursday of the month) will still end up being right.
@1ayg getting a year of paid WF vacation next week would work out wonderfully.
I'm getting hit up by recruiters for competitive pay tech jobs with stock grants. My LinkedIn is getting more traffic. It's turning into a job-seekers market, and it sounds like I might be getting double-paid to take a new job.
Cha-ching baby. Make it rain.
Insiders know what’s up. Sorry for all y’all that will lose your job.
Good luck to everyone on their firings next week!
@zfq+1bmqr4aF The OP doesn’t know anything. Last Thursday of the quarter is a pretty safe guess as guesses go, but don’t expect detailed info.
That’s like asking a barking dog to read Shakespeare.
We need lots of canning on 06/24
So if we don’t all get canned on 6/24, should we say it was your hard work, prayers, and wisdom that saved us? All must bow in adoration. I smell a future cult leader. 🙄
I hope you're right and I hope it's big, really really big...
@wdn+1bmqr4aF - Such a great teaser! Elaborate a little.. Please... Pretty please... With sugar? Are you someone with first-hand knowledge? This is your guess based on rumors? You heard something from someone "in the know"? Yeah, layoffs are taking place every day, everywhere, etc. - we all know that. But if this is something out of the ordinary - what does it hurt to give more details: specific titles being eliminated, or specific functions, or specific areas impacted more than others?
Sure, you don't want to give a hint of who you are / where you are - but none of the details you could provide will pinpoint you - huge organization with many involved and short of giving your name - which could be J. Smith - how common is that? - it would be really hard to self-identify. :)

That coincidently matches up to a conference call invite our department got today from our LOB leader.
@OP bring on my year of WF paid for vacation/entrepreneurship.
you guys think nothing is going to happen next week? you won't know what hit you...
Ridiculous post. You know nothing as usual.
Lot of unhappy people here it will be a great day for them. Free from miseries
