all of the other banks are doing the same so, not sure you have much option - just look at the news yesterday about citi, goldman sachs, and morgan stanley.
go ahead and work for another company but chances are, that company is at least going to hybrid. big tech, even, is pushing back to the office too. while some employees are griping there, still, back to the office is a piece of it. very few companies are going full virtual.
oh, and to work at one of those tech companies, you actually have to be good at what you do AND what they need you to be good at.
I’m sure if you want to go live in Mom's basement you could just quit. But most people have a family to support so that is not an option without another job already lined up.
The problem is that the industry all wants employees back. So you'll probably need to find something outside finance
