Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

This camel's back is about to break

We are expected to keep doing more with less constantly. We are told that we have to find a way to make it work in no uncertain terms. All of this as our workload increases and our headcount reduces. How long do they think this can continue? Something's gotta give, and it's going to happen very soon.

The area of WF I work we were specifically told that when someone loses their job that a new hire will not occur. Only if it becomes crystal clear the job does not get done will it be considered. Maybe that is the policy for your area of WF as well but your staff never was told?

It will be OK. The branches will be consolidated with closings.

The bank needs to provide retirement packages, allow senior employees an opportunity to exit, then hire newer employees at an above average starting salary. We all know the are in the process of enlarging branch banking districts and eliminating some district managers and regional services team members. Do the honorable thing, through early retirement, hire a younger work staff, and right this ship. This week Truist offered 3 weeks salary for each year an employee had worked to reduce thei staffs. Charlie, Mary Mack and Michelle Lee, do the same for us. And Wells Fargo team members get vocal and ask for the same. We are as good if not better than Truist employees and we deserve as much as they have been offeredz,

It is awful in the branches in Northern Virginia. Most are down to two bankers a manager, a service manager and one to two part time tellers. The branches previously had 9-11 employees. The employees are so tired. The work 6 days a week. When bankers call for assistance with loans, trust and estate accounts, IRA’s and more complicated transactions you can be on the phone for 1 or 1 1/2 hours . This is all day most days. On top of that managers need to do observations and have 1 on 1 coaching with team members twice a month. Managers should call all detractors from NPS shops. However, many of these managers now have to run tellers drawers due to teller openings in their branches. Do you think Mary Mack or Michelle Lee are truly aware of these issues? Are the Regional Presidents hiding this from them. Yes, branch employees have been told this is the new normal. I saw one manager literally snap from the stress this week, have to take additional lorazepam for her anxiety, and then burst into tears. I made her leave, go home and call her doctor.

We used to be a premier employer and we all took pride in working for Wells Fargo. I am way too old to quit at this time but the path our branches are on presently are not favorable to customers or employees. Michelle Lee and Mary Mack, help please!!!!!!!!

Lots of jobs out on the job boards. Don't let a corporation determine your happiness or financial well being.

And yet there are plenty of people who admit they are not working hard at all on this board.

Yep. And when they ask for more work they are treated like troublemakers by managers who don’t have enough work to justify their number of directs.

I personally have been told to “just wait”.

Attrition and layoffs are also creating serious risk issues. The Feds should take notice.

Stop listening Wells Fargo corporate elites management playing up these rhetorics. Theses Wells Fargo corporate hypocrites who should be held accountable, they hold high positions cashing six figure big checks but they never have done their jobs so they blame us working people lecturing about "do more with less" Think Wells Fargo corporate elites hypocrites live up to any thing they say.

Another poor reflection on the leadership at WFC. They don’t have a clue as to how to effectively use the resources available to them. When we were in the office - there would be days where we were slow and the related department next door would be busy and have to stay late to catch up, and yet we were not allowed to help them. Or vice versa. We would ask, but were told no because it is a different cost center. This place is so f’d up, it’s literally not fixable.

This is what they want...you to quit. More ppl to buckle, more attrition. My manager told us all in March we need to "Do more with less." WTF does that mean?! Its so disrespectful to people who have busted their azzes to do right and get high priority work done. But they don't care one bit. Run!

Attrition is the mission. Honestly, I hope it's effective. If they can get the the # of employees they want via attrition, downsizing should slow significantly.

They think they can use the threat of offshoring to make you do more with less and get free overtime. From the exodus of people outside layoffs, I think they are finding that people, especially the younger people they seem to prefer, have options.
