Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

There are labor movements around the country for Work From Home

There are labor movements throughout the country supporting work from home! Any troll who tells you work from home isn’t being negotiated is trying to put you against the union. Seriously, if you look at any news, real forums, local communities, etc, etc, you’ll see it’s become part of what unions are fighting for. No union with any sense would go against it.

@4zkz+1biE1dmN First June 1st, then July 1st, then August 1st, now after Labor Day. Typical cr-p being said, typical bored union or management person.

If you can go out to eat, you can come back to work': Morgan Stanley CEO wants NYC staff back in the office full time by Labor Day and anyone who does NOT could face a salary cut

Gorman said on Monday he'll be 'very disappointed' if staff don't come back voluntarily by Labor Day
So far, Morgan Stanley hasn't mandated that anyone has to come back full-time
That will change if people refuse, he said, and those who have left NYC for cheaper salaries can expect pay cuts if they want to work remotely
Gorman said the situation in NYC, where all COVID restrictions are about to be lifted, is unlike in India and the UK
He hasn't mandated that staff be vaccinated before they return but says 90% of those who have come in are vaccinated
He said if people refuse to get vaccinated because of health or religious reasons, there'll be a 'conversation' about it
In NYC & San Francisco, only 21 percent of people have gone back to the office
But nearly 50 percent have returned in Austin, Dallas and Texas

Nancy? Rajesh? No wonder there’s such a huge response to this. Who wants to go back to an office where this is common talk?

@2smm+1biE1dmN Management troll using racist terms to make the union look bad. Sorry bud, if you’re representing the union, the. Rajesh may as well have the job.

That being said, don’t listen to these trolls trying to make the union look bad. These people are a blight and most likely an extremely upset manager who got rif’d and want to get people to hate the union. The union isn’t stupid, they are working on permanent work from home! Comments match up, business agent have verified, Verizon loves it, and the people love it. Work from is here to stay!!

Work from home is great until the company decides that Rajesh can work your job from his home in India. The union SHOULD NOT agree to work from home unless it comes with a 10 year contract extension. Ok, anti union troll, get to work downvoting this comment. Absolutely realistic that this comment will have 50 downvotes an hour from now. /s

@2sqm+1biE1dmN What do you mean? Like we’re saving the company money by working from home?

Some of these arguments are done like children.

Be careful what you ask for... working from home means VZ could then use union cost savings in future negotiations.

SEIU local 99 checking in. There’s a lot of chatter about your fight for work from home among us. We’re monitoring everything and backing you up!

Also, previous comment isn’t what we expected of an organization like this. Is this type of talk common amongst your stewards or management?
