Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Return to work

What is the meaning of Pulse Survey if we just unheard and ignored?
Why Hybrid model when you are under the load of $130 Billion?
Who are these intelligent folks who think warming seats in an office place will increase productivity (in addition to pacify their self-proclaimed egos)?
Some of folks and teams enjoying remote/flexible work policy but some are forced to return to work in so called Hybrid model. Why double standards? Why we even have that remote/flexible work force if you cannot have same policy across the board? So far we have been empowered to do our best work being part of this flexibility rather than pacifying management folk’s egos. Is Verizon a conservative work place who believes in keeping an eye on their employees? It is a clear distinction between Verizon executives and the work force.
Why this topic excluded from the pulse survey or part of a separate survey? Why there is a lack of structured and transparent communication/feedback process at the company/org/team wide level? Why we always have the feeling of neglect and unheard? When entire world is saving the cost and removing real estate cost from their expenses (and they are not having tons of debt even), why Verizon folks emphasizing on coming to work?
We were productive for the company during pandemic with savings of real estate costs with better results and best of cross organization communication.

Union members and their fake up and down voting, got to love it! It's so transparent when these union members partake in fake up/down voting here. They are not fooling anyone but themselves as they always do. It's like watching a schoolyard hit out, you just shake your head and walk away with a smirk thinking, what dunderheads they are.

GROW UP and join adulthood!

Why are the vaccinated worried about the unvaxxed? Is it because they know the vaccination doesn't work? Or is it a misery loves company thing? Or is it political?
Once you're vaccinated, you're safe. Whether or not others get vaccinated has ZERO effect on you. Get over yourselves. Quit the anthony fauxxi type lies and half truths.

Pulse surveys are used by Infosys. I'm sure that Infy sold that idea to VZ as a way to appear caring.

Ah yes the anti-vaxxers. Can you imagine in the middle of the dreaded polio epidemic in the 50s when kids were dropping left and right pretty much suffocating to death because their diaphragms were paralyzed or suffering permanent crippling after effects and then there's a bunch of people refusing to be vaccinated. How about the diphtheria epidemics of before when people would have done anything to save their child with some sort of vaccine. Now we have kids getting COVID and the cycle begins again.

The Delta variant will spread in the Fall, everybody will continue working remotely
All because half of the employees don’t want to be vaccinated.

I can’t wait to get back in the office, I need some human interaction. I did my job much better in the office.

The optics on this whole thing are bad. Why pay out for a WFH pilot, and then require a hybrid model? Is this just more of keeping employees under management;’s thumbs? They’ll have laid off some sincerely good performers. Doesn’t inspire loyalty or good feelings.

Why commute 2 hours to office each way for no reason. My boss can see me thru the camera at my computer at home.

SLC BGCO employees are being told they are being laid off as of July 9th. This was probably planned earlier but they didn't want to be seen laying people off in the middle of a pandemic.
