Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

The job market must be better than I thought

We're losing team members constantly to other banks so I guess things are not as bad out there as I thought. When people talk about the multitude of jobs that are available right now and having trouble finding employees I thought they were referring just to menial jobs in retail and hospitality. Apparently, I was wrong.

Red hot. Coworker and I both had a job interview (two different places) and both of us thought we did poorly on stuff we should normally know, and both employers want another round. It may not be possible to bo-b a tech interview right now.

Stay away from Truist. It is the new shitshow. Suntrust large and in charge and terrible to work for.

I think I am only person taking interviews and have 7 offers already plus another 6 interviews to go; really dont need to do anymore but it is good practice and get more info on how the current world does things by sitting in on them

If you’re stuck in the mud, you will get yourself out by going in any direction: forward, backwards, sideways - just get yourself out of the mud.

A friend of mine left WFC and took a job at a local brokerage firm about 3 years ago. The new job paid less, initially, but she is now making 30% more than she was making when she left WFC. New firm saw her value and gave her a $10,000 raise after the first year (vs the standard 2% increases at WFC). She is now an officer and is so thrilled she took the leap of faith.

Get yourself out of the mud and move forward in your life. There is a whole world out there outside of Wells Fargo. Take the leap.

Charlotte's job market for financial services has always been healthy, but adding in USAA and Robinhood, along with the expansion of Credit Karma and Truist, there really is no need to settle for a mediocre job.

No, you were not wrong because that's what they were referring to.

The job market is tough. I am looking and forwarding resumes and applications daily and rarely hear anything back. So much competition for one job.
