I enjoy sharing ideas with my co-workers to improve their lives without making them feel bad if they are not ready to make the change yet.
I’m, for the most, part happy with my job. That is because I have been lucky to have a really great manager who, so far, has protected us from some of the more negative aspects of working for WFC. We are in a bit of a bubble because our role is difficult to automate and caters to high net worth clients. Not everyone is so fortunate. I see others in different parts of the firm who have absolutely miserable jobs in miserable departments and/or miserable bosses. I’m sure there are similar situations at other companies as well. I enjoy helping them, personally. I had good people who supported me and helped me/coached me/believed in me along the way so I offer support where I think I might be able to help. I have found positions for WFC employees at other companies and have had job offers come back my way as a result of that.
Changing big things in your life takes time. And sometimes you have to change other things first in order to be successful on the big thing. That has always been the case for me. Be patient and do it right. Ask for help from someone you trust. Pay attention to which ways business is trending and get yourself some skills that will put you in high demand. If you don’t yet have those skills - then focus on what you can bring to the table: pleasant attitude, excellent customer service, problem - solver. And find the right job/company where you personally will be happy and can succeed.
A highly successful FA told me to “deal from a position of strength”. That is probably the best advice anyone ever gave me.
Happy successful people want to share the success. I have run in to some greedy ba$ta-d$ along the way, for sure, but the good people outnumber them by far.
