My question is: What changes has Charlie made that have had a positive impact on your life as a Wells Fargo employee?
Stock price is recovering, but I could just own the stock without working here, so that is not an employment factor for me. Pay and benefits remain approximately the same, though the 401K annual contribution change is a negative. I still have a job, which I am grateful for, but I no longer have the job security to the degree I once had. I’ve worked hard here, but we also had some fun and laughs along the way. In my department, at least, the fun is gone and it’s become more of an “every man for himself” mentality. The manager 2 layers up was let go, and he had a lot of legacy knowledge, which has been sorely missed. Charlie’s making headway on the consent orders, which is good for the bank, but doesn’t really positively impact my day-to-day work life.
I’ve polished the resume and am looking, while also hoping for better times ahead when Charlie moves on. My particular skill-set will probably require a move to a different city, which I’m not keen about. I am a person who works for more than just “the paycheck”.
So a genuine question for those of us who are struggling with maintaining a positive viewpoint during Charlie’s time here as a CEO: Please share what Charlie has done to improve your life at Wells Fargo?
