Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Corp Comms Disaster Continues

That meeting yesterday was a joke. Also this process to make us “more efficient” is code for “I am going to double your work load and make you more miserable than before so you quit and we never backfill them role.”

I was tickled to see 4 STAR positions posted for a role that at least six people who were laid off could have been mapped into. The strategy seems lacking. There's obviously work that still needs to be done, yet they laid off the people who were doing that exact work.

Apparently you’re in Corp Communications because of your ability to exaggerate.

Corp Comm just had a mild haircut of some of truly low hanging fruit. Serious cuts are coming.

Corp Comm just had a pretty substantial “right-sizing”. You must not work here.

Corp Comm is due for right sizing if fairly bloated. I know some folks over there that barely do anything, they are all well connected though.

Corp Comm is due for right sizing. Sorry but this is a true cost center for the bank that proffered zero in return especially over last 5 years of their disastrous of a comm response to the scandal

It's amazing how many Julius Caesar / MLK / Ghandi level leaders we have at WF who instead of leading anything choose to work as ICs and spend all their spare time complaining about the shortcomings of other's leadership. I'm pretty sure I saw that as one of the common traits of great leaders in one of the cut/paste-article-on-leadership posts of the week.

"You couldn't do half the job of the team... Blah blah blah..."

You mean I can't...type?

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

Only a male secretary would say such a thing.

Keep taking the dictation for a paycheck, lil fella.

It worked for Cheryl Sandberg. If you don’t have an original thought and couldn’t communicate it if you did, just copy someone else’s idea. Maybe some of their success will rub off on you.

Buzz words are a pacifier to leaders who cannot lead. If you asked her what we are leaning into she would have no answer.

“The truth can be difficult to accept sometimes, but it's best to set aside hurt feelings and acknowledge that 'Corp Comms' are glorified secretaries.”

You couldn’t do the job of half of the team without drowning in a pool of your own vomit. We know you are mad that you are a nothing but it’s pathetic you try to be someone on an anonymous message board.

1pc here. Nope, I don't complain about not being told something.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

lpc+1baIWwmT I'm sure you're also someone who says the company doesn't communicate anything to employees.

I’d be able to retire and get out of this mess if I had a dollar for every time she said “lean in” yesterday.

How about leaning into job descriptions? We’ll take notes from you and your leaders

Corporate communications?

But everyone just deletes those emails without ever reading them.

Weird that so many people are paid to write messages that no one reads.

Who in Corp Comms ISN’T looking for a new job?

The funny part is you won’t quit. You’ll stay as long as you can and continue to whine. As someone who left Wells, at a certain point you have to take responsibility for your own life, career and happiness. If you let Wells control that, you’ll never be happy.

The strategy to make everyone miserable and over worked is going well.

If they want to reduce the headcount, they can just downsize, they're doing it every day. Yeah, I know that severance costs more than a resignation, but that clearly isn't impeding anything as demonstrated by constant layoffs.
