For those who have actually received their RTO info (or others that just have intel), are you returning to the same office location as before? If your team was scattered across different offices in the same city, will your team be in the same office building going forward?
If you were in a hub city, but were 100% WFH pre-COVID, do you have to travel to an office 25 miles away when another office is located much closer to you?

The head of our LOB said on a call today that managers will be having 1:1 conversations with telecommuters over the next couple of weeks. It was made clear that, IN OUR LOB, just because we do not live near a hub we should not assume that we will be let go because we have no office to go to. Each case in our group will be addressed individually and decisions will be made based on business needs. I had been operating on the belief that my days are numbered since I’m several hours from the nearest hub. Now I see that I may get to keep my job after all. (MAYBE)
I was in an office that was over stacked. I transferred to another external team. I was told that I could not keep a desk in the current building and began WFH. That was 6 years ago. 3 years ago the building was sold and demolished. No Hubs in my State. Now, what?
My manager didn’t have the info as of Friday 7/23/21. We are still waiting in our LOB.
manager here, and I have seen my team's RTO assignments and was asked to review for accuracy. Yes, they have your home address. Yes, you may go back into a different building than you were in prior to pandemic, depending on the geo market and what stage they are in with reconfiguring the space. Yes, a manager can put someone in a different building if it's in the same market, under 40 miles, and the facility is available (not under construction/reconfiguration and/or not oversubscribed capacity). The review of seating is held to those no more than a couple of levels down from OC, so not all managers will see/be asked to review depending on the nature of their org structure.
HR has access to our current home addresses, so the managers also have access? They could just run a report to see where you are located. They must know that some have moved during the pandemic and are no longer near hubs. Others never were near hubs. So I would think the managers would be asking about that. Has anyone been asked about their location?
In our area as manager I’ve had to provide a list of all those near office and those who are not… RTO is coming
