Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Starting to see an impact from layoffs

Due to recent layoffs, some good people were let go. I'm getting brought into projects where the designs are so ridiculous they will never work. These replacements have no idea what they are doing and are relying on other teams to do the designs for them.

So not only do I have less team members, increasing my work load, I have to clean up the garbage other teams are handing over.

I'd love to know how those being laid off are selected because some of these who survived have no idea what they are doing.

THAT's what we call manufactured culture, get people to attack others to be on top. Supposedly same thing happened at Bank of Mellon or whatever it is called.

This is no surprise to anyone who actually works for this company as opposed to those sitting in the ivory towers who never actually did the job.

I have seen some excellent people leave recently. The brain drain is really bad and getting worse. Talk now of some retention bonuses which is unreal while implementing RTO, site strategy to drive out long time WF employees. There are people who are bad and coasting but the people who can quit have been leaving the dregs. Part of the issue is all the JPM people who have come to show us how it is done. However, almost all of them do not know very much about how much anything actually works. On top of that we have extremely low performing PM teams running around taking credit for jamming deliverables through with low quality that was actually produced by overpaid consulting teams. Execution at WF is at an all time low. Quality be darned, hit your date.

@uxd again. Not sure why you'd downvote that. People whose work I'd never have to check before now require review before I can trust that they've actually done it right. That's either inability to handle the increased work, or deliberate sabotage of coworkers.

Used to be the best team I had worked with, now it's a bunch of individuals looking out for themselves, maybe 1-2 others.

This is why people 3-4 layers up shouldn't be deciding who stays and who goes. They get wrapped up in bean counting, DE&I, and other stuff that has nothing to do with getting things done.

I'm seeing formerly rock star employees turn into saboteurs against people they perceive as threats.
