Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Looking to know if you can WFH/Remote?!

If you were remote before COVID you will continue to be remote.

If you were not remote before COVID you will come into the office "X" amount of days as per your manger or their manager.

You should also know that HR is having a hard time hiring quality candidates based on this hub plan, when bigger companies pay the same and offer full WFH. Currently, they are seeing job posting span more months on end (check the job postings yourself). This is putting a strain on our HR department and staffing.

Only thing no one has been able to answer is how they plan on enforcing coming to the office if no one in your hub location is on your team or know who you are.

Does anyone know?

40 mile is off the table. No more mileage limit per manager. Read the faqs in Powell the Pe-v's email then ask your manager

Managers are in the dark too, we know nothing in terms of layoffs or how the office situation will work, there’s no communication at all. We ask about layoffs and the generic response is you’re okay for now, meaning today, not next week or next month.

They will be monitoring building badge scans, so just pay a Buddy to scan your badge 3 days a week!

Get everyone back on buildings, then sell the vast majority of buildings / let leases expire, layoff all employees impacted by the "building closure". Pretty obvious why we are being herded into the doomed buildings.

Ahh, I do love me some WF threads. Seems like the mix is about 20% employees, 30% former employees, and 50% people who just see a big spoon and like to stir the p-t. :)

"Please quit because your obviously an incompetent id--t."

Isn't it ironic, don'tcha think?

Even those WFH prior to covid have uncertainty. From the Corp Risk email on the 19th: "Prior to the pandemic, employees in Corporate Risk worked in different ways - from fully in-person to fully remote. Our goal is to achieve greater consistency in bringing more employees together in shared workspaces more often" and "We understand flexibility is important to a healthy work/life balance. Corporate Risk employees will have the option to work from home up to two days a week."

Same email also states CR employees will be asked to complete a RTO questionnaire, will be REQUIRED to record their vaccination status and managers will hear more about "readiness" in July and August. It also mentions the location strategy going in to "2022 and beyond". Very vague and not comforting for those who've always been WFH and non-hub.

I know I feel my role (WFH for close to 10 years and 5 hours from a hub) is now closer to being let go. So, I continue to apply externally and advise everyone in this same situation to do so as well.

@isr+1bX94g0u At least they know the difference between “your” and “yours”.

Please quit because your obviously an incompetent id--t. Probably one of those dopes on some of the weekly calls asking the d-mbest of d-mb questions.

The logistics have not been figured out. But shame on the CEO for not learning from his mistakes at BNY Mellon. Bottom line, he does not care. We are going back to an environment where there was a mess getting flex seats before. They have not told us how that has been resolved. They have. It talked about anything positive about coming into the office. You are being forced to to so.

There are indeed groups being grandfathered in. The catch clause is that if you move, the old contract uses that grandfathered location. Your new location is renegotiated to the hub, IE you lose WFH if you move.

Scummy.

Badge swipes, Pulse logins, network subnet flagging, Teams/Skype logs, there are tons of ways to monitor if youre at the office or not. None of these require anyone on site at the hub location to do anything. So even if youre a one-man-army and the rest of your team is somewhere else, it will still be monitored and you'll still be caught.

“If you were remote before COVID you will continue to be remote.”

That blanket statement is inaccurate. In my group, you may have been 100% remote pre-covid, but if you’re within 40 miles of a hub you’ll be expected to come to the office 3 days per week. So these policies may vary by LOB, and blanket statements like yours are misleading.

You obviously did not read the email Scott Powell sent out on Friday, did you?? They said no remote work anymore unless you have OC approval, which isn't going to happen.

They'll replace the worker bees like you with people in hubs, wake up Dude.

Sure, if you were remote before COVID but are within 40 miles of a WF hub office, you’ll be expected to come into the office X days a week, same as colleagues in you LOB who were already in hubs. If remote before but more than 40 miles from a hub office, you’ll be allowed to stay remote FOR NOW (ALL CAPS intended to be ominous). Doesn’t matter one little bit where others on your team are located. Folks like me, working in HQ city that’s not a hub, are also expected to be in the office X days a week.

All of it will easily be enforced by badge swipes which is what they’ve been already doing for years to decide who got an assigned workspace and who had to go flex.

FFS. Ask your manager! What are you expecting to learn here on a layoff site?
