I’m the only one left of my original team. Over the last 2 years we’ve had employees RIF’d or leave for better options. The team that I am a part of now often criticizes me for being by the book. Not sure why because I like to think I’m easy to get along with. I know team dynamics always change when new players are involved and I am one to adapt to anything. However I am often told I need to “get with the program.” I know I should develop thicker skin but honestly I’m just tired of all the criticism thrown my way. I would give anything to have my old BB&T team back...

Also, if you look at the department managers who are still here from HBBT, they are the one's never had a clue what they're doing, that's why they are still here as they're no threat to SunTrust, they just know how to say yes over and over.
Every manager that was an asset to BB&T are gone.
So funny that SunTrust people have the gall to criticize BB&Ts systems and processes. At BB&T we didn't always have the most cutting edge stuff but it was light years ahead of where SunTrust was. And yet look who won out. That's a big reason why I left and don't have any regrets.
I am HBBT, and right after the merger one of my new SunTrust teammates said something I will never forget. After a full-day meeting spent with the SunTrust managers literally making fun of BB&T’s systems and people (right to their faces), she looked at me with a very serious face and said - we at SunTrust are horrible jerks, stick around long enough, and you will become one too. Not only do I not plan to stay, I am to the point now where I’m actively rooting for this bank to fail. The people running it, and the culture they foster, doesn’t deserve success.
