Is it because we're in Covid? I prefer paper. It's easier to access and read through things vs downloading all of that.

It's not an "argument", I've seen it happen several times, and what's "easy to prove" is that they DIDN'T send them out. Thanks HR. The displacement teams have been a complete cluster. Probably from being over worked, but still, total boondoggle.
@fje+1bVQOvxB I’m sure some made that argument but it’s pretty lame since it’s easy to prove an email was sent. I also figure they’ve refined the script to say it’s the job of the displaced employee to confirm they got the email and act on it. And if they didn’t to alert HR.
Any energy spent trying to dodge receipt of the package would be better spent preparing for job searching, but people are their own worst enemies sometimes.

Aside from printing and mailing, there are costs to manage the signed docs when returned, scanning and storage. Electronic is not just cheaper, but more efficient for HR meaning they can lay more people off, faster.
There’s also a risk around hard copy delivery. Electronic delivery = can’t play the I’m Not Home to Accept Delivery card.
It’s because it’s cheaper and better not to ship confidential paper information. Digital can be zoomed and resized too making it more accessible. Key words can be searched.
The fact that you prefer paper might be one of the reasons why you’re getting a packet. It’s a digital age, and if you’re not onboard that train you’re getting left behind.
I can’t speak for everyone, but I don’t care if it’s paper or electronic. I just want a package.🤷🏻
Yeah, you'd be able to read it while on the p-t and feel less weight in the azz knowing you're soon out of here if it was on paper. The shi! ain't over til the paperwork is done.
You should complain to management about it.
It's cheaper. 50k+ FedEx next day air shipments ain't cheap.
