Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Who wants to bet?

While everybody is talking about WFH and not paying attention to anything else, Charlie will use the opportunity to continue with cuts? It's starting to feel that the WFH announcement had several ulterior motives behind it: including pushing people who don't want to RTO out "voluntarily" and getting everybody so worked up that a few cuts here and there will completely fly under the radar. Just my opinion.

@jaq, I agree, and I wonder if this will be a factor in when they start selecting and notifying those 100% WFH not near a hub of the directive to move or leave. They may decide to wait and see how many sites have people dropping like flies in the first few months.

My POV is that the RTO will fail as infection rates go up amongst WFC employees. I give it a month.

Tech will be the least impacted group in the company.

It was the fact that it didn't address those who WERE given relo notices before covid hit that bothers me. Time to look elsewhere.

The email worked. I'm a top tech performer and have 2 interviews scheduled for this afternoon for jobs I applied for Saturday morning with well known tech companies. That gives me hope.

Pretty handy to be able to create your own hub isn't it? Do as I say, not as I do, that's what I always say!

Charlie doesn’t need to launch diversions to continue with cuts. Cutting costs has been his stated goal, from day one. And if it’s just starting to feel like leadership would prefer folks quit to avoid severance payout, pay more attention. This is not news.

Most of the companies I speak to are extending WFH, and are protecting their employees and their communities and themselves (from lawsuits) from the rising infection rates of the Delta variant as we head in to the fall/winter season. Not sure who you’re “speaking to” or where you live.

If anyone wants to place a bet, I’m betting the financial industry will have to go back to WFH quickly after they force RTO. As infections rise among employees and someone forced to RTO dies? I give it 4 weeks max.

If you’re not close to a hub, I would say within 30 mins - 1 hour , I would ask lots of questions about your future at WF

where at all have they said that those in a non-hub location with be asked to relocate, as part of RTO?

There is nothing to bet on, Dude. The decision impacts thousands who are not near a hub. It was made to force those to relocate or leave. More attrition is their mission, make no mistakes about it. Of course, our own ceo did not relocate to the San Fran hub to take the job but expects many others to move on their own dime.

@dal, Aigh, please. I stand by my statement. Mostly everyone is rto. I did not say "everyone " but "mostly everyone ".
Most of the companies I have spoken to are already in the office now.

Aigh, please. Be accurate with your statements, if you’re going to attempt to correct someone else. The truth is that most banking employees are preparing to RTO, not “mostly everyone”.
