I think they meant marionette strings. I speak fairly fluent Tinfoiler now. I have also determined that “fake news” means “inconvenient but factual statements that I wish to discredit”.

Why would you think the government wants a plague? COVID is a serious issue and governments be are supposed to respond by protecting their citizens, that's their main job. If they don't fulfill it by say, being told half a million people died from the virus in one year and their response is "it is what it is" they get voted out of office. Government revenues on all levels depend on taxes and a healthy economy, the last thing anyone in office wants is another shutdown.

Some of us don't need a WFH agreement, so there's nothing to cancel. I'll still be WFH.
Our executives clearly don't have any clue where our people are, not unless they are doing this to accelerate attrition. Many will be forced to relocate which is a stup*d idea now that housing (buy/rent) is extremely unaffordable esp in the hub areas. And WFC won't even give a dime to many low-level emps who are forced to relocate. Relocation assistance is only given to executives who don't even need them. And these executives jump from bank to bank without hesitation. What about us, the poor worker bees at WFC. So much ridiculousness.
How are we suppose to return to office if the the leases aren’t being renewed. This place clearly lacks ethical leadership and communication skills.
You likely wont get direction for a couple months or so. Managers are supposed to take training between now and pate August, then i’m sure more communication will come out. I would guess earliest you will have to take any action is early next year.
Does anyone have any idea when we’ll find out more details? The office I used to work out of on occasion pre-pandemic is being sold to another company along with the business that works there. Now my closest hub and office is over 6 hours away. I’d just like a timeline. The not knowing is making me so anxious.

So if I end having to find a desk/cubicle/whatever downtown at a WF office in a Central TZ location where I am the only one from my team, but the sole-representative for several layers above me, have to deal with some mid-level manager from a totally different LoB/division trying to dictate the hours that I'm expected to be at my desk when I'm supporting all of my Eastern TZ teammates and management? YeahNo...I'll come in around 5-6 AM CT, work my 8, then I'm going home.
The hubris of some managers may come crashing down when they realize they aren't going to be exempt from WFH.

Look at the FAQs in the Manager Section of the return to the office. All previous WFH agreements ( including pre covid) are terminated.

Invited does not normally mean mandated. Let’s wait and see what happens. There may be exceptions.
My WFH status had been threatened pre-pandemic but it died down before the pandemic happened. We haven't heard anything in our area indicating RTO would affect us.
Of all the people on my team, I'm the most likely to be out of reach for any hub location. I know there's a WF campus within 40 miles, but I know it's not going to be classified as a tech hub. That's why I don't think LOB hubs will be a thing, they are pushing the whole "meet your coworkers that you don't share a job with" as fostering networking and idea-sharing. All to force RTO on as large of a population as possible.
