I've WFH for just over 5 years, been an employee for close to 25. I've seen mergers, acquisitions, layoffs, etc. I've moved a few times for this company (some they paid, one I paid to get to a preferred personal location). Where I'm at now is 5 hours to closest hub as they closed all the buildings near me. I won't move again. What is different now is the toxic tone from the top. Anyone who thinks Charlie or 2 - 3 below him care about anything but the bottom line are fooling themselves. Sadly, this is how big banks work. So, rather than complain about it, I'm taking control of my own destiny. I am constantly on LinkedIn, Indeed and Glassdoor looking at jobs and applying for those I feel I'm qualified for. WFH and living where I do is important to my work/life balance. The right one will come along. But, it up to me to make it happen. I recommend anyone feeling this same way to also take control of your own destiny. Stop caring for a company that doesn't care about you. Life's too short for that.

Op how long did it take you to give your own post that many upvotes?
I’m not giving WF the satisfaction of voluntarily leaving (which is what they want). Been full time telecommuting for 10 years now. If they want me out they can pay my severance. Absolutely NOT thrilled to return to the office, praying it gets delayed or they stop paying attention to where I am sitting after awhile. Gonna ride this out or wait to get a package.

I am doing the same. Interviews in between conf calls. Cannot gtfoh fast enough.
Executives are just highly paid politicians. They’ll tell you what you want to hear, but do what’s best for their pocketbook. You shouldn’t ever trust any of them.
