Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Did people read the same memo I did?

From what I read it seems that most of us will have more ability to WFH than before COVID. The only ones who got scr___d were those who were WFH fulltime before all of this. But it seems more winners than losers if more WFH is the goal. But from what
you read here you'd think we're all being frogmarched into an office 40 hours a week with a g-n pointed at our heads. Whatever, what the memo says works perfect for me.

Pre covid, plenty of groups (including front line agents) were moving toward or had already transitioned to either full WFH or WFH 3 days, 2 days In office. COVID sped everything up, but Charlie doesn't like WFH, did something similar to Bank of Mellon and got sued for it. It is Dianna Starcher esque return to late 90's working environment that is less productive overall. It's also designed to get people to quit so as to save on severence packages. WF keeps saying it wants to be more efficient. It lies to it's investors that it is working towards that while doing exactly the opposite.

@sxr, the majority of people were working in the office.
Look, no sense in boo hooing. The decision is going to remain and tis is not just a WF decision. Many companies are calling people back to the office.
Can't deal with it, there are options.

We. Weren’t. Doing. It. Before. Covid. How many times do people have to say this?

No one is forcing anyone to rto. You are away this is a free country and you do not have to commit to a job if it doesn't agree with you or your schedule.
If rto doesn't suit you, hit the road.
I'd be happy they're not laying me off yet instead of complaining about something you've been doing before Covid.

@cfq+1bTJSJvv..

I get your pain. They do not care who they pi-s off. All of this is to get people to quit. Plain and simple. We are all expendable to the OC and Chainsaw.

@bde+1bswizz.

Listen, my work day is scheduled at 8am to 5pm. I often have to order lunches delivered and eat while I am working so I can get an actual dinner break. And that is important because come 7pm, the Critical Online Window ends and I am then busy again for several more hours.

By then my wife and kids are in bed asleep.

If I am having to start commuting, my days will be from 6:30am-10pm three to four days a week.

Why are my days like this now? Because of layoffs that took us from keeping our head above water to not being able to keep up.

On top of that, you want me to waste an hour and a half in the morning getting ready and commuting and an hour at 5pm commuting back home to implement changes?

They can F right off.

Throw in the hub location strategy, if they force that quickly, I am losing several other coworkers who would have 2+ hour commutes to the nearest hub and who don't want to move.

So they are going to lose people who can't be replaced right away as it takes 1-2 years to get fully up to speed. Projects are going to fall behind further as we are struggling to keep up with demand as it is.

And some of us will be burned out and look for jobs elsewhere.

Their saving grace now is we don't have to waste time driving to/from the office.

@sib - they quickly pulled JNJ from use when there was a concern of around 2 in a million blood clotting incidents. But yeah, hundreds are dying, and the gov is covering it up. Can you fathom how stupid that sounds?

Get your head out of your a--, and learn the difference between an unverified self-reporting system (VAERS) and what's actually happening.

Switched to full time WFM several years ago, with a tele-commute agreement. The last section of the FAQ makes it sound like those cases will be left to LOB to sort out.

If you believe HHS, more people died from the vaccine last week, and the week before, than all strains of COVID combined. But I'm sure they're lying. It is the government after all.

So for people that are in operations that they have to go into do there work, should they be paid commute time?

Some of us will be forced into pay cuts having to go into a city hub in the form of city income taxes that we currently don't have to pay. That is on top of commute time wasted and expenses from that. Some areas you have to pay to park as well.

My god I have never read so many post by a bunch of cry babies. If you don’t like it leave, you get paid twice a month and that’s all you’re owed and nothing else.

@jh. I'll tell you what it has to do. Every week we have some new unqualified "executive" here setting hours of meetings and thinking we care what they have to say, we don't. If your a Rockstar here guess what you go NO where. Other places i've been if you perform great work day in day out, you get promoted. Here you die on a vine and they hire some tw-t from JPM to be your managers manger. Look at the very top of this place, the people specifically got their job because of their Race Card or because their G-y(head of HR, head of Risk), or they have a s-b story like Powell with a down syndrome kid, and he's not the only one. Worse is they try and use their stories like some card of PR punch card, absolutely disgusting stuff. If your hungry and want to move ahead in your career this place is like a nightmare, you hard work is barely thanked and your career goes flat line like a dead person in the ER.

They're chafing at even having to concede to a hybrid mode. With the power tripping that goes on here, and antagonism to force attrition, it'll be rolled back more, or be left to the discretion of a million levels of management who will start attaching strings, etc.

I don't know, was it written by the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, G-y, Asian HR head? The Executives here should be fired, what top performer would want to work here, ask yourself that. If you work hard and bust your a-s you never get promoted, and you see loser from other banks getting hired on in rolls 3 levels higher than you. Can't wait to get out of here. Between the endless D&I stuff and our JPM Loser Management, this place sucks.

While I would personally prefer permanent work from home, a hybrid model is better than what the majority of us had before. I would urge everyone to stand their ground with their direct management with relation to expectations and abuse of privileges when witnessed on the part of your peers, however. All it takes is for one person to abuse privileges or be given preferential treatment by management to ruin it for us all. Be assertive and be aggressive with your supervisors. Hold them to task. Take control of the narrative. They don’t have a job without you? Who would they micromanage if they were just managing themselves?🤷🏻
