Consequences for NOT Returning to Office?

Are there any consequences for NOT returning to the office three days a week? Or just a directive to do so? Do they plan to fire people who do their work but don’t go in to the office? And if they do fire us, on what basis?

Read the FAQs on the email that came on RTO. 1st question: “What if I don’t want to return to office?”: Answer: 1- use pto, 2- use leave of absence if possible 3-use it to find a new job. Very clear. The FAQs are very telling of their feelings .

The smartest thing I ever did was disclose I have a disability. It's illegal to ask about the disability, so it could be anything.

Every month, someone on the team needs to have Covid or be exposed to someone that has.

You won't get unemployment if you're terminated for cause (like not coming in 3 days a week). I can guarantee you, if you try to file a claim they will have a WF Legal attorney specifically assigned to protest your unemployment claim. Just being real here.

They don't give a shi! about you, man. The sooner people here realize that, the sooner you'll accept reality and get motivated to find a new job. That's what Chuckster wants!

That's what i say, fire me, i dare them. Fire me and watch the fireworks when everything breaks in about a week. I'll collect unemployment for a while and find something else. In 20 years i've only been out of work once for 6 weeks, and it was the best thing career wise that ever happened to me.

First you have to realize that a company doesn't need any basis at all to fire someone. You can be fired for no reason at all, or for any reason other than some specifically protected ones. You can be fired for wearing a yellow shirt or for having blue eyes if they want.
You can certainly be fired for not following a directive. If that's what they want to do.

Just tell them you've been exposed to someone who tested positive for Covid, over and over
