Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

moving to a different hub location?

Now with the RTO strategy, I will likely have to go into the office though I've been a remote worker my entire 5 years here. But I was planning on moving to warmer temperatures next year. Does WF allow people to move to different hub locations based on desire not need? (Plenty of my teammates are in other areas).

I don't expect relocation assistance, and I'll be poking around for new jobs between now and then, just wondering what my options are.

"if you’re not near an identified Hub for your LOB, either move or leave"

The problem here is that not all LOBs/groups even have a hub, "identified" or otherwise. For some, hubs are physically impossible, they have to be dispersed for business needs.

i moved from San Antonio full time remote to Charlotte years ago on my own dime. they didn’t care. Maybe they wont allow it due to attrition but id ask. it cant hurt asking your manager. i said my spouse was being relocated.

also, portland is not a hub

Just tell them you’ll move and string them along with lies about how long the process is taking while you look for a better job

I’ve been a remote worker my entire time (9 years) and live 4 hours from the nearest hub. Being in corporate risk, I haven’t a clue what’s going to happen and my manager has not said a single word to me about any of it.

My guess is that whatever would cause the most voluntary resignations will be the policy. In this case, that means 'no, you have to go to the hub we say because reasons'.

Does anyone know if Portland, Oregon, is a hub?

You can relocate at your expense. As long as your manager approves it. If its to another hub for your LOB, it will get approved. Since they aren't paying, it should nlt even have to get approval but this is how jacked up this place is. Just look externally and gtfoh here, as fast as you can.

Also remember that we have different pay for different regions (4 of them at least for tech) so that could hurt you if downgrading or be met with resistance if upgrading your hub city.

I am in the same boat. It will be interesting to see if they will offer any exceptions, i.e. your home is not close to any major hubs. This is a very impactful change in policy.
