I was on a call with a large audience today. Someone asked if we were still going back to the office in Sept. The answer was Yes and that a company wide announcement was imminent in the next 5 to 10 days. They also said we'd be going back in waves.
Those hoping the Delta variant will crimp RTO after Labor Day, you are likely out of luck it sounds like. Grrr.

Even with the liberal 2A-related laws in Texas, including permit-less carry effective 9/1/21, an employee who set's foot into a WF facility with a f i r e a r m can be terminated with immediate effect by any manager even if not in their food-chain...but if I enter a WF bank in TX with a concealed-carry, I'm okay, but I digress. Full disclosure. I’m fully vaccinated, and if I have to RTO, I’m wearing a mask ALL DAMNED DAY.
My peers are nasty. I’ve enjoyed the last year and a half without getting sick with whatever cr-p their kiddos drag back home from diaper school with them. If anyone is uncomfortable with my masked face then that’s to bad. I imagine there will be a lot of confrontations at work. Everyone will have hurt feelings. I work in Texas. I imagine a lot of my peers may also be coming back to office with concealed party favors (after Labor Day Greg Abbott’s new legislation goes into effect regarding concealed carry). Good times.

The ONLY person who wants employees to RTO is Jamie Dimon. Charlie apparently can’t stand on his own 2 feet and make a decision on his own, separate from his mentor. Charlie is afraid he will appear soft, but in reality - I would have a lot more respect for him if he would take a stance that is different and probably better than Jamie’s.
I think that Delta is to continue spreading and they will go back on that decision to have folks in the office in Sept. Nobody wants to go to the office, I think execs too.

Not everyone took a job that said you would go into the office. Some of us took a job where we were told it’s 100% telecommute and we’ve been doing it for many years.
RTO......so many griping about it. You took the job knowing you would work in the office and have a commute. Now there is whining about the deal you accepted. If you are vax'd, don't worry about it. Let the unvax'd live with their choice, good or bad. No need to worry about them.
If CDF was the source, you might have a point. In reality VAERS is the source. But let me guess, it's a "conspiracy" source also? They are reporting almost a half million "adverse effects" from the "vaccine", even though there are no reporting requirements, and then uninformed people come on and label everything a conspiracy theory. The Department of Health and Human Services compiles this information, if they are a "conspiracy" then why should I believe anything coming from the CDC? Of course, after the emails, I probably shouldn't.

For the people who took the shot - why are you so afraid and aggressive? Vaccination works, doesn't it? You are now protected, you can move about, go to concerts/restaurants, and meet as many people as you want, without the worry of getting sick. It's the people who did not take the shot that need to be worried - if they choose not to get vaccinated, it's their problem, not yours - really.
How come we didn’t see all these variants last year?

Mind your own business? I wish I could but unfortunately what others do affects me and my family. Like someone who gets drunk and drives a car. The Surgeon General said misinformation is a serious threat to public health. Problem is there are a lot of jackasses who believe everything they read on the internet as long as it supports their excuses to not protect public health.
Now with the Delta variant, the unvaccinated allow the virus to keep mutating. THAT is why the unvaccinated are getting sick. The more this thing mutates, the higher the chance that it will resist efforts to combat it.
Basic medical science.
Ask a medical professional how much they like you going around unvaccinated. You know, the people who have been taking care people with this virus for 18 months. 99% of the people in the hospital with the virus are those who were unvaccinated.

@brf One thing I would bet on is that at least one person in that room full of execs and lawyers has floated the idea of having employees sign some sort of waive to hold the company harmless if they catch COVID in the office. Wouldn’t that be fun to watch?
As leadership has clearly demonstrated they do not manage by popularity polls, let's do RTO on August 1st. What will be changing between 8/1 to 9/1 that will be making it any more safe to return (or not)? If the in-house collaboration is so gosh darn important, let's get on with it.
Each business group needs to lists out its hubs and let everyone in their area know what they are and tell them pick your hub and be there. If you can't, thanks for the good times.
@wng I wouldn’t bet on a “lockdown” by 9/1 in the US. Americans just aren’t going to take it. You’ll have marches in all 50 state capitals. However, I would bet that Wells and other big companies push out their RTO timeline again. I imagine a room full of execs and corporate lawyers pulling their hair out trying to plan how they’re going to get a few hundred thousand people back in their cubicles without a sh!t storm of lawsuits raining down on them as soon as the claims of inter-office COVID transmissions start coming in.
