My new manager asked me to create a power point reporting deck to give to the higher ups to show how productive we are. Why?! I have never seen a place with leaders who spend more time having their directs create needless power point decks. It's like, oh I'm a new manager and I need to justify myself, so go create some decks. No, let's get real work done, not decks that some executive is probably going to spend 4 seconds looking at and then wipe their bu-t with it and forget about it. Waste of time and resources!

Without PowerPoint decks, the BICs would be competing with the admins for their jobs.
It's not just managers creating PPT decks. I worked with an architect that created a deck for everything. She drove me crazy. I am sure she is still doing it, because she isn't really an architect. Hahaha!
they won't invest in real technology for a dashboard or auto results etc so powerpoint it is!
If you can't dazzle them with brilliance baffle them with bull sh--e. Whole bank built on it. Cr-p management at all levels

Been there, done that, they’re trying to justify why your area is needed. My job was evaluated and month later I was laid off. Sucks but you still have job so be happy and do whatever they ask and make it good!
