How many people had to make a drastic career change after SF? I have the option to leave SF but that would mean making a big career change. That’s why I’m a little insecure and hesitant, because I’m used to working in this industry, but I’ll very likely agree, just to get out of here as soon as possible.

I was laid off in March. Went from 70K after 3 yrs to a new role paying 140K. Get out if you can.
The opportunity is in producing something tangible. Sitting behind a computer produces nothing. We will soon be going back to manufacturing. People who work in infrastructure will be making 3 times more than incompetent pencil pushers. Watch!
I say go for it and don't look back.

Aren’t you “over it” after how fu---d up it’s been? If you have an opportunity to do something completely different, I’d go with it because insurance is FUBAR.
I have been preparing myself for a transition by getting more education and training. That is all I felt I could do. It isn't easy.
