Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Drastic career change

How many people had to make a drastic career change after SF? I have the option to leave SF but that would mean making a big career change. That’s why I’m a little insecure and hesitant, because I’m used to working in this industry, but I’ll very likely agree, just to get out of here as soon as possible.

The opportunity is in producing something tangible. Sitting behind a computer produces nothing. We will soon be going back to manufacturing. People who work in infrastructure will be making 3 times more than incompetent pencil pushers. Watch!

I say go for it and don't look back.

Besides the food industry is looking for talent such as you have.

Aren’t you “over it” after how fu---d up it’s been? If you have an opportunity to do something completely different, I’d go with it because insurance is FUBAR.

I have been preparing myself for a transition by getting more education and training. That is all I felt I could do. It isn't easy.
