You ask 1000 people if they support the ideals of the 8th Amendment (bans cruel and unusual punishment). 950 say "yes". Are they "sheeple" simply because they believe in / say the same thing? No. Sheeple are uninformed drones that are being herded, without independent thought, towards an ideological objective. In the US, that tends to be the Marxists, who are so routinely controlled by media driven narratives from their Dear Leaders that they might as well have strings attached to their appendages.

It means regardless of how wrong the genetic malfunction is that makes some an oddity, we must pretend it is normal to be that way.

Ever notice how everyone on the right says they're not sheeple?

I mean it's like a chorus of voices all saying the same thing.

The exact...same....thing....

But they're not sheeple. No way.

I seriously doubt it. We have many more left wing militants here than right wing, and it's not even close. Probably a 10:1 ratio, which isn't shocking when you look at where WF employees are located. SF, NYC, Portland, Charlotte, Des Moines, Minneapolis etc. Not exactly right wing strongholds.

I’m a white male. My best friend is an Asian female. My friends are white, black, Asian, Asian Indian. Unless I think about it, I don’t really think about it. I just see them for who they are, people of great character.

There are people of bad character in all races. It seems only those are the ones who are cited as examples for certain people with an agenda. Anyone with a brain realizes this.

I have to admire the new generation for their view of this subject. They don’t care what race you are, who you love. They just accept you for who you are.

I was introduced to a new point of view from my long time friend early on. Rather than bristle, I seek knowledge so I wanted to know more and I learned a he-l of a lot. Now I am interested in her take on the latest news.

I have had female managers, minority managers. Some were great, others not so much. Same as the white males. I can tell you the females have to push twice as hard to get respect sometimes, regardless of race.

You probably will be surprised an older person is the author of this. All older people are not racists as the media would have you believe, although a lot of folks on this board seem to want to set society back decades again.

I'm white. I was interviewed by a strong black woman who hired me. My first supervisor was a woman, I reported to one white man for a brief time as a phone banker, but have reported to women ever since. Every team I've been on has been fairly equal male to female ratio, generally favoring the women's side. My current team is almost all women, and majority POC. I've reviewed other teams that are more diverse than the population percentage.

I've only seen one thing that made me concerned diversity wise several years back. A hiring manager seemed to be segregating all of the new Black hires into a team supported by a black supervisor. I raised my hand thinking this was wrong, and was griped at by a couple of those team members who preferred to not be on a white team. Bigotry comes in all forms, and all people can be bigots. We aren't supposed to generalize about any race, but people do anyway. A poster here says that whites don't want anything to do with bl---s. There are bl---s that don't want anything to do with whites. Then there are people that really couldn't care less. They'd like to get to know their peers, but aren't given the chance. I'm white and I don't get (or like) hip-hop. It's not because I'm racist, I just prefer Trance. I also can't stand heavy metal and ho---y country. The POC I do happen to know, we are friends because we see our similarities rather than the superficial looks. They don't blame me for the actions of others (in the present or past), and I don't judge or stereotype them. When we disagree we do so respectfully. I don't expect them to change for me, and they don't expect me to change for them.

I love that we want to respect all and offer the same opportunity at every juncture.

I think affirmative action type overcompensation for perceived inequality should only be short term pushes not mandates. Driving is a great example. Correcting is ok, overcorrecting put you in oncoming traffic.

White people do the same thing. How often do you see posts here with something like "I didn't get a promotion because the boss wanted to reward his friends!". Pretty much daily, and yet it's probably not true in most cases. The person that got the job probably just seems like 'better friends' because people in charge naturally 'like' people that are good at their job and give them minimal headaches. Probably has nothing to do with who is 'drinking buddies' with who, but we make up these narratives to make ourselves feel better about our own insufficiencies. Anyone that has made the effort to move up in the world has 'failed' and not got a job they wanted, it doesn't necessarily mean that it was good ol boyism or racism.

Well, to Chainsaw it means being so nondiverse that you do forced employee relocations to hubs while he stays in NYC (Zone 0)and builds a hub around him but expects others to relocate at their expense. It's do as I say, not as I do. That's DEI for ya!

As a non white person trying to fit into the white culture, you're usually ignored if you don't look like "them ", have the title as "them " or educational background as "them".
Whites want nothing to do with you if you're not white and cannot further their career aspirations.

I means nothing to me, don't give a $hit about it. If you're good, honest, mind your own biz and posses qualities that I like, you're okay with me. Also if you got where you are on your own and not just as a quota, I respect that too. No amount of media pressure, political BS and social labeling will make me change my mind. I get paid to work with you, that's about it. My life doesn't evolve around you, and no, we're not in this together or we're better when we're connected or my favorite 'for the children' garbage. I hope we still have freedom of thought: I like and dislike whom I want based on my personal choices.

Until Wells Fargo embraces diversity of thought and politics and other areas not tied to race or s-x preference, it just means our company fell for yet another flavor of the week cottage industry designed as a money grab from companies. D&I offers no provable benefits to a company outside of not getting bad media attention for frivolous lawsuits and complaints from employees who think they’re more valuable and talented than they really are.

What do you mean, like do we think its a scam? I guess if you have common sense, of course its a scam. People used to stand on their own merits and advance with hard work, that's been replaced with stimulus checks and victimhood.
That's the reason most don't have any respect for management here, most sr. management got their job solely because of race or because their LGBQTC, or some family tragedy they use. Can't wait to see real bankers again run this bank again.

Outside of work: respecting and recognizing the value of each individual person regardless of superficial appearances or characteristics.

At work I think the same way of course.

Unfortunately, those in positions of power see it more like this: some people are more equal than others, and we clearly look at some people as "undesirables" based on superficial appearances or characteristics. They routinely look at a group of people and think 'something is wrong, there's not enough (insert some demographic check box) here'.

Interestingly, hate groups and some of the most notoriously racist regimes of the 20th century think the exact same way, and all of these groups do it in the name of "justice", to correct the wrongs of the past. You would think human beings would learn, at some point, after millions of lives lost over it, that you can never cure racism with more racism. Not only will it not work, it can't work. Literally impossible...but some people just can't stop beating their heads against that brick wall no matter how much it hurts. We should value each person as an individual first. Joe doesn't have value because he's Black, or g-y, or whatever...Joe has value because he's a human being and life is a precious thing. If these characteristics are an important part of what makes him 'Joe', great! We all have facets and characteristics that make use unique, but it's dehumanizing and insulting to look at someone and value them based on superficial stuff like this, or to value some more than others based on such things. It's bigotry on the most basic level, and it's institutionalized at times making it even worse.

DE&I seems he-l bent to do just that. They want to put you in their demographic boxes and then force rank based on those, with managers that have the "right kind of people" being 'ok' in this area and managers with the "wrong kind of people" being pressured or canned. Imagine how you'd feel if your recruiter or boss told you that you've got to many black people on your team and you needed to hire some white people to either meet your diversity targets or to 'make the team look like the community they serve'. Total racist nonsense, right? And yet, here we are, doing that same thing with different groups. No one ever told an interview panel composed of 3 black women that they aren't "diverse enough" and they need to bring in some one else to be compliant. Never happened. Some people are more equal than others, at least to the higher ups at WF.

I have a dream that some day we'll all be judged based on the content of our character.
