Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Corporate laptop and privacy

So I think theoretically they can use the corporate laptop to overhear your personal life if they want. Is that correct? So I guess it’s not safe to put it in the bedroom?

WF might have a policy against spying on employees in their homes, but that doesn't mean some tech somewhere wouldn't abuse his/her privileges. Turn off your mic, cover your camera.

Go ahead a watch, and see how it's done, son.

Take notes.

Also, OP, remember to recycle that tin foil brim.

Certain groups within the bank do have the ability to capture audio from workstation microphones. It would only be done as part of an investigation warranting such an invasion of privacy.

Do you seriously think that your manager or the company have any interest in overhearing what you do in the bedroom? Get a life.

Yes....WFB policy terms of use say as much. Between Skype calls turn off the Mic driver.

Never assume anything on your company laptop is unmonitored. Keep your camera covered. That’s all you can do.

Do you seriously think our technology is this advanced? WF can't even figure out how to move past Office 2013/2016, let alone them figure out how to "spy" on us.

Alexa and Siri were talking about the same thing the other day while the Ring doorbell kept an eye on things. The fridge was cool about it, not a peep, not one IOTa. Whatcha gonna do, play the music loud or get a keyboard and monitor with looooooong extensions and exile the laptop to the dungeons? Personally, I'd go for the tin hat because there is No Such Agency that has that power or capability, legally speaking, or otherwise accidental...

Sorry Google, Facebook, Amazon are the digital peeping tom's of Corp America. Free email in exchange for getting full access to read all your emails. Wells Fargo.. ha they wouldn't even know what to do with the data.
