Or it is definitely starting to feel that way. I don't know the actual number but it's not hard to see. Do you know one team that has not changed drastically in the past several years in employee makeup? Yes, some of it is due to layoffs but more and more people are simply having enough and walking away. Does anybody know how many people have left just in the past six months? At least approximately?

I wish more people would leave. I can provide a list if it will help.
Keep the resignations going....215k employees here we come. Hopefully it's all the senior level deadwood that should be nuked immediately
People are leaving in my area. They got tired of the re-orgs and found other jobs.
No one is leaving my marketing group. People are desperate to stay.
In some areas the voluntary attrition is very high. I was in a meeting where someone accidentally showed a screenshot and the group had over 20% attrition and at least 15% was voluntary. I think that is the plan - make people miserable and they will go and you do not have to pay severance
If things aren't better for me by the time bonuses are paid out in February, I'll be heading for the door myself.
You can use LinkedIn to get an idea of the number of moves. Many middle managers in compliance and risk are getting paid more elsewhere. Leaving behind many to take up extra work for the same pay. Things are changing fast.
Public affairs/Comms has lost a lot of really talented people in the past 4-6+ months through resignations. More than I recall in previous years. There have been a lot displaced, too. Not sure what is next, but I'm ready to follow suit. Many of my peers are looking to leave this year, too.
Yet some teams are doing "blitz hiring" where they post one req for MANY people. Usually entry level and one step above. Then, they can hire in the locations they want, bring in young (i.e. just out of college) talent that knows nothing of the corporate world. These folks can be "molded" to the new WF way while those of us who've been here for a LONG time are taking our talent elsewhere. Nothing any of us can do about it other than take control of your own career/destiny and get out while you can.
No peers have left...yet. But three layers above my manager have either moved or retired in the last 9 months. Peers who have age/tenure are talking seriously "retirement" as an option to move on, as well.
We couldnt possibly know without HR reporting but my personal observations are 3 voluntary for every 1 involuntary which would be the desired formula for a mass layoff to be financially tenable.
Its a simple formula used by every company when needed. Make the environment untenable for the high dollar employees who will enact self preservation protocol and move to protect financial income.
The layoffs will then mostly be lower wage earners who dont typically initiate change for various reasons.
High risk thinking = high wage earners
Low risk thinking = lower wage earners.
There are of course outliers for both scenarios, but generally this holds.
OP whatever they pay you is too much. Get back to work.
The employee count has dropped by less than five percent since the first of the year.
I walk into a casino and everyone is winning. Bella and lights everywhere! End of day I’ve lost all my money. What happened op?
They are getting out if they can if they are smart. They know the execs are about to cash out before it all comes crashing down because of their incompetence.
What can you expect though, they are using the same failed policies from their last stops. Einstein’s theory of insanity in action.
Not where I am. No one is leaving
