Question about hoteling: I use three monitors. Will we have the option to use multiple monitors if we don't have a dedicated desk?

They are getting ready for folks to return to the office. They are removing all of the desk phones and replacing with soft phones. They are going to remove any idle equipment and outdated peripherals in offices and work stations. They are replacing all of the conference room video conferencing monitors. They are going to dust, vacuum, clean the air ducts and post safety signage for when we go back.. CPG needs to stay busy since when we return it will be close to the end of the year it's time to restack the floors, throw everyone up in the air and play musical chairs. Some floors will relocate to different buildings, but these changes were already in motion when they had to come to a screeching halt.
If they wanted you to leave they'd send a box and a label to your home to retrieve your items and some one will make sure you will get your personal items when we are physically back in the office.
Alot of folks got those same emails this time last year and were told they will now sit at such and such building on so and so floor, make sure you update your mac address accordingly.

Still trying to figure out how WF is getting around the whole employer liability thing?

Congress didn’t pass anything giving employers blanket immunity for employees who contract COVID at work? This is the whole reason we’ve all been home so long. WF doesn’t care about our well being. They care about massive losses from payouts for death benefits, lawsuits, and reputational damage caused by packing people back into a Hub location while not making vaccines mandatory or asking for proof of vaccination.

How many of us feel comfortable going on the honor system with relation to back to office? I don’t trust my peers. They’re all transactional and in it for themselves.

I think that they are just preparing for possible return to offices. However I think that the new Covid Delta variant spreading across the USA will postpone the planned return to office date. Apparently unvaccinated people will spread Covid Delta variant to vaccinated people, who may or may not be asymptomatic, and spread Covid to others, etc. Read the recent news on the new spread of Covid Delta variant across the USA. How vaccinated and unvaccinated against Covid can still get infected by Covid Delta variant and be hospitalized and/or die from it. Covid Delta variant spreading in the USA now is a real set back to recent plans.

If it was #2, they wouldn't be telling you in advance by asking about the location of your effects. Its obviously #1 or something else.

Offices are going to hotel desks. All your personal belongings will be boxed up for you to retrieve when you return to the office. You won't have personal space, but will grab an open cubicle/desk on your floor.

They're probably trying to figure out if they need to return anything to you before making the whole floor a hotel site.

Door #1 OP. If they wanted you gone, you'd be gone, them TX boys are pretty straight forward. Now crack open a cold one and relax (let the guys from CA to worry about stuff like this).

Maybe because they need re-model the office and have to move things around. Relax!

I'd go with #1. Likely they are moving people around to every other desk or some such plan to reduce the effect of another wave.

But, it could be #2.

Our manager asked the same thing a couple of weeks ago, was asked by his manager to get those details. Allegedly it was because they are moving things in the office but I thought it curious as well.
