Congratulations to those of you who have resigned by choice for other opportunities recently.
If you resigned and offered to work 2 more weeks (especially in Technology), did they want you to work the 2 weeks? Or did they make you leave right away?

I worked in Digital and got walked to the door first week of May, but I still got two weeks pay, benefits, etc. The funny things is, I had to contact them 8 weeks later to say that no one has contacted me about returning my devices.
why resign?
if you are remote, just work both jobs.
use google calendar to avoid meeting conflicts.

Anyone who resigns if they are due severance, unless they take a lucrative gig, is a clueless and unintelligent person.
ICS is keeping people for the two weeks. I negotiated another week from the new job, people are pretty cool about that lately
Figure it depends on your group and workload. Unless you handle sensitive info or have a book of clients they want to hang to, you probably won’t be released early. But week 2 is usually a cake walk, with long lunches, leaving early etc. This is standard operating procedure. If you want to ensure you get a week or two off between jobs, just negotiate your start date at your new company.
No matter what, give the two weeks notice. It’s a small world and not doing so could come back to haunt you.
Put the ball in their court. I have seen them tell people to leave or work them like a dog the two weeks. I think it depends on the LOB and manager.
I have a friend who resigned and gave two weeks notice. He worked them out and left. Could be different depending on what you have access to. I'm sure DBA's don't get to keep their access but who knows.
I know someone who works in reporting and resigned with 2 weeks notice. They kept her on for the 2 weeks.
A good question. I am trying to figure out how much to give if any and will it matter?
