I don't miss leaving Verizon, but I do miss my co-workers. I worked with some great people who put up with a lot of cr-p. For 25 years, I was a loyal employee and put up with an increasing amount of cr-p as the years went on. Then I took the "buy out" offered in Oct 2018 and left in March of 2019. 14 Months of pay and benefits, no brainer! Played around for about 4 months and then found a job that is 100% remote (since 2002, they never had offices), unlimited paid time off, and great benefits. $100 a month towards health and wellness, Internet paid for, home office paid for, 401k matching (as well as a percentage automatically put into retirement even if you are not contributing), tuition assistance, $2400 a year towards student loan payoff, etc..., etc..., etc... and the most diverse and employee centric environment I could ever imagine. The only drawback is I took a 20% - 25% pay cut, but thanks to the buyout, I paid off all my debt, so I didn't care. Also, the job and company is so laid back and a joy to work for, the pay cut doesn't matter. Goodbye 52 mile daily commute to work and back, and good by stress and headaches.
So, has anyone else experienced what I have after leaving Verizon?
