As I try to land my next job due to what we are going through, I am actually rather shocked at the horrid treatment of candidates across industries.
I have experienced it all lately:
Cancelled postings while in offer
Silence after interview
HR people coming online openly stating thay havent looked at resume yet
Complete bait and switch on salary ranges after interviews start
Hiring managers or HR reps fired halfway through
One year plus aged denials I had completely forgotten about
I actually received a congratulations letter that wasnt intended for me
Twenty minute late starts on thier end that were blamed on me passively
A manager that started the interview with "this will likely be a waste of both our times"
I was once given a "guide" to help me creatively convince (lie to) the manager because they were "difficult and picky"
Etc etc
How can this important entry point to a culture be so mismanaged? How has it escaped the numerous transformation efforts out there?
I am thinking it has to be partly because they don't have impartial seperate oversight not embedded in HR itself.
