Hey all - got laid off earlier this year and I’m past my notice period. Got a new job and requested the lump sum payout for my remaining severance. Paperwork says it’ll be paid out within 60 days - anyone know if it actually takes that long? Wouldn’t surprise me but just curious. Thanks!

Taxes are the exact same whether you take a lump sum or payments.

- 98 after it was taxed. Never take a lump sum. The taxes will ki-l you.
How much severance did you get, if I may ask?
Mine was quick - maybe 2 weeks
Got mine in 2-3 weeks. Seemed fast.
