Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Sickened by "Strength in Diversity"

I have had about as much as I can take seeing our WF site stating we are stronger because of "Diversity". I have had bosses , friends, and neighbors of all stripes and languages over my adult years. When it comes to business, I want to be able to turn to someone who knows how to get it done, done correctly, and timely. WF will fire serious and productive accountants, analysts and the like and then create 6 figure positions and whole departments of media fluff aka "Diversity". WF exists for the shareholders and has for well over a century. We have never existed, and correctly so, as a philanthropic 501c3. Thanks, I feel better now.

Superficial surface diversity is utterly meaningless to any thinking person. Intellectual, philosophical and ethical diversity is meaningful. The “woke” should just be given a severance and let the rest of us get to work with more than skin deep diversity.

Politics Politic Politics No one believes this stuff is needed. Just that the public wants to see it. Big banks and all big corporations are buckling to the politics of this new country we live in.

Don’t know why people are down-voting @1tkq. I went into Develop You yesterday to double-check that my team had completed all training with early July due dates per my manager’s request. I had a new course assigned - something D&I-ish, with no due date - but my folks did not.

@1tkq must not be company-wide, as I have directs and also no outstanding Develop You courses.

lol, there's no equality here. Some people are more valued than others by the company, clearly. Well, everywhere but the C suite. That bubble has its own rules, but the rest of the company, if you're the "wrong color" the company hates you and wants you to leave because PR and favorable DEI statistics are more important than YOU. That's the reality we're in at this point, and you call it equality. Sounds a lot more like the opposite to me.

I see out tolerance and diversity "allies" are placating thier white rage by overcompensating with rainbows again.

The best way to be tolerant is apparently to marginalize a race of people in this case whites, and manipulate thier feelings to move an agenda.

Division hatred and lack of kindness are coming from diversity police, not the whites if that race even still exists after 100 years of intermixing.

We see you socialists. We know exactly what youre doing now.

Racists, misogynists, homophobes and miscellaneous bigots all alive and well at wells fargo as shown by OP and many of the posters on this and other threads.

"some of my best friends are _____(fill in the group)" or "I've aways had friends of all different ....." are just two of the usual BS line used to avoid looking deeply at the structural issues and deeply rooted intellectual biases perpetuating unfair treatment of less privileged groups, including your own blind spots.

@cfe+1bAWxl5s

You need to check your privilege. When it's racism against one group, said group is just 'scared of losing their place'...but when it's racism against another group it's the most vile thing ever perpetrated against innocent victims. Someday the bigots will wake up, figure out that racism is ALWAYS the latter, and start treating people like human beings with value. Or do we just not care about MLKs dream anymore? Sure doesn't seem like it, but I'll continue to believe in it even if no one else does. Sorry, but I don't want to join your hate party.

This is how they work.

They start as skinheads, then realize the general public won't listen to their fringe ideas.

So they dress up in khaki slacks and polo shirts, and learn to say the same v i l e things, but with different wording, more subtle, less obvious.

And next thing you know, you're toting a tiki torch around the neighborhood with a bunch of dudes, because it's almost all dudes, and chanting about how you're scared someone is going to take your place.

Like that movie with the pod people, but less realistic.

We see you OP.

If leadership was actually pro-diversity, I'd be 100% on board. The problem is that they aren't. Every individual is unique, but the company's current way of thinking (very 20th century) is to reduce human beings to demographic check boxes and then value them as such instead of valuing the individual person for what they bring to the table (e.g. the content of their character). That's the problem, because the demographic box plan dehumanizes people and pits them against each other for no reason. It's an approach that can only result in increased racial tension and racism. There's literally no other result that's possible. They've essentially just switched the colors around in order to identify a different group as "undesirables". It's very very clear at this point that the company values people differently based on the color of their skin, rather than the content of their character or their ability to bring value to the company. This approach will fail in the long term, just like it always did in the 20th century. I hire the best person for the job, and you know what? The resulting team, even if you use their ham fisted simple minded checkbox approach is more diverse than the team Charles has assembled. Funny how that works, isn't it? The vast majority of WF employees are not racist, but the leadership group is and their policies are.

There really is no need to be constantly outraged. All this nonsense is like white noise - always there but easy to ignore. Move on. Relax a bit.
