Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Super Uncomfortable Here Anymore

Anyone else just uncomfortable working here anymore? I am. Changed roles, that does not improve anything. Not getting the leadership I need here. No mentoring, nobody seems interested in even talking to you, including your own manager, to get to know you, promote good relations, etc. Even to ask if there's anything you need. This is not leadership.

Consequently, I am accepting almost all external interview requests I get.

That’s not what I asked. I want to see the video of him saying it,

Banks with as many assets as WF can't be purchased by other large banks. Anyone outside the banking industry, I'd they were going to buy a traditional bank, wouldn't choose WF. Sure, anything is possible, but it's incredibly unlikely that WF will be sold to anyone. It's just too big. And before someone pipes up with 'yeah, but what about X bank, it sold!' X bank was smaller, had less rep issues, and had poor financials. WF is still printing money and there is growing confidence about the future based on stock prices over the last several months. Companies about to be sold are those headed in the opposite direction. WF will get more efficient, the asset cap and some other reg issues will be resolved, and we'll be back on track to grow. Some of us, including me, probably won't be around for the journey, but WF is going to be fine.

@1stg+1b9foeh0 Not that I’d take anything he says at face value, but where were the words today where Scharf said Wells Fargo is not getting sold off?

@dbg+1b9foeh0 you're the problem. No one here hates you. We don't know you. Your co-workers more than likely don't hate you, depending on if you are pulling your weight (is that fatphobic?) or pushing off work. People just want to be looked at individually and be given raises/promotions based on merit, not on an immutable trait. WF has stated white hetero males need not apply.

Imagine reading Teamworks every day and realizing that 'everyone', right up to the top, hates you for the color of your skin and your gender, plans on excluding you from everything good, and is implementing a plan to 'get rid of your kind' as fast as possible. You're right, it is pretty uncomfortable.

@1sql+1b9foeh0. Guess you didn't pay attention to Scharf's words today. WF is not getting sold off.

@1ghm+1b9foeh0. You are used to the old ways. We are now ran by a Wall Street suit. That class of people is dominated by psychopaths who only care about their own portfolios and reputation within their circle jerk club. Welcome to what it is like to work at Chase or Goldman.

You reach a 20, 25, 30 year milestone. In Wells Fargo or Wachovia you might not have gotten a big prize, but you got a pat on the back and thanked for your dedication to the company.

The Wall Street jerkoffs, look at you and if you aren't in a revenue producing stream, mark you for the next round of layoffs so they can replace you with someone cheaper state side or off shore.

A minority works at WFC for over five years in a dead end job. I am tired of all the lies told about job promotions, internal career opportunities, transparency and DEI but they are still all nonsense. Wells Fargo managers are never personally held responsible even in the face of the facts that they did wrong and they talk ties. Really disgusting toxic culture.

People who think Wells will be sold off to another bank do not know much about banking laws. Wells has too high of deposits.

Obviously you're not a manager. Nevermind, good luck.

Talk to my manager? Managers have no say in anything, they’re told what to say. Corporations are losing the tax breaks given in the previous administration. We’re all on the way out. Why pay Americans more when other countries are willing to work for less with no benefits? They don’t care. It’s not personal, it’s business.

What they said: Move everything to the cloud, sell off profitable businesses, outsource as much as possible. Whatever is left will be sold to JPM. Demoralize us all until we are made entirely redundant.

Imagine being a minority reading this site. How comfortable would you be working here knowing your co-workers hate you?

So yeah, freakishly uncomfortable for me.

Have you tried telling your manager how you feel about the situation instead of anonymous people online?
