Will tellers eventually be displaced? This makes sense now that bankers do teller transactions.

Based on what we are learning as managers, the goal is to increase tellers effectiveness with digital. That’ll help customers transition to self-service over time. Meanwhile, we are developing tellers into our future bankers. When it make sense, we could see more bankers than tellers with less overall staff as customers adapt to digital. I’m not saying that EVERYONE becomes a banker, but that’s what BOA just did after gradually dwindling tellers. Now they’re all “relationship bankers”.

I don’t think tellers will all be removed anytime soon but numbers will dwindle down based on demand over a period of time.

The only BO job at immediate risk are the regional service advisor role and other roles that aren’t revenue impacting
