@2kmy+1b94FVVw Well said. I am a hiring manager and I feel I have always been fair and hired people based on their skill set, qualifications and how they present themselves in the interview. I will admit it always bothers me significantly when I get that "quota" list from HR relative to my candidate pool. I never think or color, race etc. until HR forces me to. And that is not good.

No matter the topic - forcing opinions on people will always have more negative impact than positive. You cannot solve or improve a problem with a forced solution. You will make it worse.

Well as a straight, white, Catholic female I truly did not realize that there were people who did not identify as male, liking females, or females liking males. To find out that there were other types of
"identities" out there, was well Earth shaking. That freshman Bio 101 course only taught of typical males and females who mated and produced babies from the natural, evolutionary union of males and females. Try hard to accept all who differ from the "natural" pattern created by nature.

Might not seen like a big deal, but if people do not push back on this worse things will come. Get ready to be forced to list pronouns on emails, take critical race theory classes, and illegal hiring/layoff quotas pushed from behind the scenes.

I agree with the OP. It's not so much about the social justice message. The image is way too busy -- too distracting. MS/Apple backgrounds are generally a calming nature scene. Promotes serenity. The WF backgrounds are like a Times Square billboard.

I have never seen this, but then again I have always had my own background.

Actually I think that the more "diverse" employees could "blend in better" if they were not constantly being called out as "different", "disadvantaged", "special", etc. Just let them be as with the typical stereotype people. You make them seem "ODD" by all the extra callouts as to how they are "different" and need special attention and special treatment.

Ok I DID change the last two "forced" desktop displays because the content made it too difficult to view my daily used icons on the desktop. Opted for beach scene that makes all of the desktop icons visible for quick access. Nothing against the "forced" desktop displays except that they interfered with my quick access to icons for actual work related issues.

So apparently the same person thinks it’s cool to post their sh-t over and over on this topic. Triggered much, boomer?

They will probably track who changes the background to move them up on the list to go.

I'm annoyed at it constantly being pushed on everyone. I'd feel the same way if it were Catholics pushing no birth control and large families constantly.

it takes less than a minute to change it to something else. it's just like any other background you don't like - just change it.

Takes 10 seconds to change it and doesn't revert unless you log out/log in.

Public displays of ignorance need to stop.
