Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Take this job and shove it

Does anyone remember the story of the JetBlue flight attendant who was overworked and tired of the airlines constantly cutting back on pay and the number of attendants working each flight? One day, after a rough flight involving an intoxicated abusive passenger, he announced over the PA that he was quitting his job. He then deployed the emergency exit chute, grabbed two beers and slid off the plane. He said on the way down the chute, he felt a “lightening of the soul” and when he reached the bottom he felt “exhilarated and free”.

I have, on occasion, had a few ideas regarding a satisfying exit from WFC after years of watching our bumbling top execs cheat the system, cheat the customers and cheat the employees and then walk away with the cash.

Does anyone have any fun exit ideas?

Bleh. Like most women managers. Major control and bully issues.

@hdh+1b93qQxi, I think I know her, what area does she work in? She still has serious issues and a major bully

@knb+1b93qQxi Similar story about a middle manager who had a reputation as a condescending bully, especially to other women. She ran a huge project, and had contractors assigned to help her who happened to be female.

They were stuck between a rock and a hard place. Boss was really demanding that their work be excellent, but also felt threatened if they got kudos from partners on a job well done. The first contractor refused to renew because of it, then her replacement started to receive the same treatment.

A few days before her maternity leave, bully boss went nuts upon discovering that the 2nd contractor had a brief vacation planned for a month or so into bully boss's leave. (This had already been approved by this contractor's interim manager.)

The contractor was so done, she packed up a few personal items and quit on her way to lunch, never to return. The interim manager apparently called her to try to smooth things over, but bully boss had already begun her leave by then, so no immediate consequences for her.

A third contractor was hired who had a really strong track record at WF already. She only agreed to take the job if bully boss was NOT her direct manager, when she returned from leave. No surprise, when bully boss did return Wells tried to renege on that agreement, so contractor #3 threatened to quit on the spot -- and management backed down.

Want to guess what happened to bully boss? They got her a coach, and she's still at WF. Slightly improved version of her old self, but still quite difficult to work with/for. Especially if you are female.

Imagine if the casualties left in her wake had received 50% the support that this one bully boss did?

We had a long-term gal quit on the spot a couple years back. Our manager, who is a known and disliked hothead, yelled at her in front of everyone in the office for something that turned out to not be her fault. She tried to defend herself and he kept talking her down. She grabbed her purse and the picture of her kid off the desk and said she felt sorry for his wife (true story!) and walked out. A few people clapped in support of her as she walked out.

The story quickly made it’s way to our manager’s manager, who made him call and apologize to her. She accepted his apology, but said she had no interest in working another day for him. Good for her. She was quickly hired by a local brokerage firm and said she has zero regrets.

Does that hothead manager still work here and is he still a ruthless manager? Yes he does, and yes he is.

I will 'satisfyingly exit' by passing on useful information to my replacement, turning in my company-issued equipment, and retiring with a smile on my face.

The question is whether he will ever be employed as a flight attendant again. Or anything.

I doubt it, especially with the publicity. Toxic to companies now.

I started practicing freerunning so I could backflip down the side of the building from my floor. The architecture supports it, but sadly, I won't be good enough at parkour to do it by my last day at Wells.

I don't but I do remember that flight attendant. That was funny and I couldn't blame him.
