People on here complain about old people at Wells, but no one here is going to hire young people without flexibility because that is what they expect now.
The best companies have a combination of employees of all ages, but young folks don’t want to put enough thought into it to realize that. They are used to the Twitter world where they have a short attention span and don’t think before hitting send.
@3xhr it depends on your LOB. I was hired 100% remote 5 years ago and the latest strategy for the group I am with was that if you're not in a hub location, you must be willing to relocate to get another position internally. At this time they were not forcing relocation for keeping your current job but who knows how long that will last. Technology (prior to covid) was forcing relocation but at least offered some relocation assistance and plenty of time to do it. Other areas like corp risk expect you to do it yourself.
Tell them.
@4rjy don’t go back just quit already.
Well if we have to go back into the office fine. Just know I will no longer be able to continue working until 7 PM, 8 PM, 9 PM or 10 PM anymore then. Please do not expect me to work until 6 PM in the office with the remote Manager, drive home for an hour, pickup "to go" dinner, then log back in when I get home after all that and continue working. That hour long drive, stuck in the crawling traffic is brutal and saps the energy out of you. Must have dinner for the family somehow. Lot's of drive through and "to go" dinners when having to commute to the office. Then there are the nightly chores of dishes, laundry, garbage out, pay bills. Back to office = end to any unpaid overtime during the weekdays. Must sleep too.
Nobody knows for sure. All we know for sure is that they haven’t said they gave up on the location strategy.
We do know that Saul and Charlie have tried this at other banks, and had to walk it back after there was an uproar, and even after that, and high productivity during the pandemic, they still haven’t shelved the idea, so evidence and reason don’t enter into it.
My two levels above all work from home and live far away from HUB locations. So they push us back in the office or relocate?
What about those of us hired as remote employees at the first place? Are we going to be forced to come in too?
When our team was told work in office 3 days a week I would come in, about a 50 minute drive each way, and sit mostly alone, there was one contract employee there too. Sometimes I ran into more than 1 team member in the office with me too. Manager was working remotely. Ran into Manager in the office a couple of times, but not usually.
Wrong.
The vaccines don't prevent transmission, they only address symptoms. Kinda like over the counter flu meds. So the lady in the next cube being vax'd doesn't decrease your risk, at all.
They have record of everytime you badge in. They know who comes in and who doesn't.
No one should be allowed to return to the office unless they have proof of full Covid vaccination.
Just because someone has been vaccinated against Covid does not mean that they cannot still get it and infect others with it. With the vaccine it is just if you do get Covid you will not likely die from it.
The Covid vaccines are not 100% effective.
Covid is not over. Many Covid variants are arising that could be even more deadly than the original variant. With return to the office you will see the employees, though vaccinated against Covid, coming down sick with Covid and infecting their office co-workers. Should stay all remote work at the present time, if remote work is possible.
"But new ideas will be come from hallway chats and around water cooler."
I wonder where these execs got these ideas from, inflight magazines? lol (let me sip my coffee)
Are there going to be teams checking who went into the office?
Back in 2006, we were told we can work 3 days in office and 2 days at home. After a couple months, I stopped going in the office at all and haven't been back. I did this for a couple years before we went 100% remote.
It made no sense for me to go sit in a desk surrounded by no one I knew or worked with.
If I went into the office today, it would be the same. No one I work with is within 400 miles of me.
Return to office will only be staggered in Sept. And the end of the month, everyone is back
Ah, Saul can be personable and pleasant enough -- but seems like he's always treading water -- always biding his time -- waiting/hoping he somehow gets a better draw of the cards.
First of all it's not "ask me anything" as there is a battery of questions nobody has courage to ask.
I am glad the return will be staggered, I am dreading going back to the office, I really like the current setup.
Saul is not as bad as people portray him to be on this website.
@szw+1b4MUR1q Who cares. You want to know his underwear brand is!
I will comment but first, Let me take a sip of my coffee.
dont think anyone they hired knows what they are doing; seems like we are in the middle of a tornado and cant get out of the whirlwind
What’s up with the globe painted black on his shelf? Is Saul part of the Illuminati and foreshadowing the New World Order of death and destruction?
No Big Bang return to office in Sep. it will be staggered from what he is saying. I guess that’s a good thing.
Anything good? I took the day off.
I want the performance review meetings with my manager like Steve suggested.. not just for vets
