Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Have a positive comment - don't post it here...

Every time someone tries to post positive feedback on this Board, there are many people that will absolutely shut this person down with a lot more negativity. No, I am not Charlie and I am not HR. I am just someone who is still happy working here. Can you believe such people still exist? I certainly respect those folks who are not happy and I am very sympathetic with those who got laid off. Good luck to all of you and stay healthy.

Hey OP, this is a layoff rumor website. People are worried about their jobs, families, and lives.

You do know that there are about eleventy-kajillion other websites where you can share your happy thoughts.

All of you should take a cue from those of us working in Meetings and Events. We are overwhelmed with our workload but we love Wells and always focus, help one another, grit our teeth and work our way through it. We are in hours before these whiners every morning and we see them leave well before we do. Yes, we need to call on many partners throughout the day. We are here because we love a challenge and every day is a new challenge and a blessing.

@OP I've worked here for over two decades. While some of the times I hated this place, other times I loved it, and more often than not I would defend this company against all criticisms because I truly felt it was a net good. I've been held back financially despite outperforming my overpaid peers, all because of stupid HR rules about not "being expensive enough to promote". I've witnessed horrible managers who blame you for their own lack of skill and talent as a manager.

As if that wasn't bad enough, nowadays this is a company that I barely recognize anymore. They have basically taken the printer scene from Office Space and transformed it so that the workers are the printer and executives are the ones beating them to death because they hate them so much.

It's fine if you want to champion this company, I get it, quite a few get it. Good for you since you're happy here, but there's obviously more of us who feel this place is spiraling down the garbage chute than feel like it's improving.

I don’t shut down the truly positive happy people who like it here. Way to be. I do come after the people who are toxic- positive. In other words: the condescending, the holier-than-thou, the non-empathetic.

I come here to read about the adventures of the tech secretaries, and the R.I.P. Your Career guy.

"Why would anyone happy with their job at Wells even visit a board like this?"

For the entertainment value and because people like to think they have some degree of influence over what happens to them and assume that they will find some nugget of information here that will somehow be useful to them. Why do you come here?

@iak+1b3RmFJz If you want to get laid off then you should be happy that it is happening. Just sit back and enjoy the show. You post contradicting itself.

Agreed, but we do have some voices of reason on this board as well.

Get over yourself. Literally everyone in the company has the same axe hanging over them, including the OP. Is the OPs post really so intolerable? Are we all supposed to spend every single second of our lives in a constant state of misery that you personally find to be acceptable? If you want to be miserable, knock yourself out. I choose not to be, and really don't care if that's not good enough for you. You do you, and I'll go ahead and be positive and have joy in my life.

I'm fairly gruntled and the reason I come here is because I hope to get laid off. If healthcare were more affordable I'd just retire early but such is life. I've worked for a few large banks over the years and none of them are any better than the others. For the most part, there's nothing useful to be gleaned from this site so take it for the entertainment value that it provides.

I'll say this again. There is a serious imbalance between disgruntled employees and those who seem to have job satisfaction. What's worse is that many (no, not all) in one group can't accept that the opposite situation exists because it's not their own personal experience.

I will add that if living under prolonged threat of layoffs, dealing with stacked rankings even in situations where managers have rarely met with employees either as a team or individually, and the only tech upskill options provided are through recorded videos in lieu of actual training courses which you get to do after your 50-60 hour week do not equal toxic work environment, could a toxic environment be described please?

@vtq+1b3RmFJz, what gives your the right to think that what you are saying is true? It is not. I do make the difference, every day. I wish I could get in a lot more details and still remain anonymous, but I cannot. I absolutely respect how you feel and you should do the same. There are many negative posters here who feel they represent the masses - you do NOT. I also agree with those that suggest that maybe Wells Fargo is not a place for you. Why work in a "toxic environment?"

It takes a special kind of heartlessness to come to a layoff board and complain because people aren’t being performatively cheerful. Unfortunately the people that do this never are introspective enough to realize what monsters they are. I would never be so cold.

What do you expect at a layoff site? Unicorns fa----g rainbows? Seriously ... people come here for info about a bad situation. Anybody who complains about negativity is just looking for a way to feel superior.

Most of the Gestapo were happy in their roles too. Imagine if they had complained?

I'm sorry you are ok working in a place where you never get to make a difference in the world; for me that is the worst possible option. Good Luck

I agree. I was laid off but I liked it at Wells and hold no animosity towards them. I always stuck up for Wells. The negativity is unfortunate because those who constantly do it should just leave and save the ones who want to be there.

It could be that lot of the negative posts here are just from a handful of posters. They just post a lot and complaint about the same things over and over again

99% percent of the people who comment negativity here never worked at Wells Fargo Corporate. Just what I have seen by silently observing this site.
