So announcement after announcement coming out that there’s reorgs and 90% of the new leaders are coming from JP Morgan
At the same time they’re flattening the structure and overloading the first two levels of management and eliminating the next step up
There goes any growth and promotion opportunities for the vast majority of the first two layers
I guess there’s openings at JP though, so silver linings

This is exactly the problem. The top two folks the CEO and the CIO are ex-JP folks along with many other executives. They are going to go after any and every JP person whether they are good, bad, or ugly. Even if your pedigree is a GS,MS or even a McKinsey, you stand no chance of being hired if the other candidate is from JP. Many years from now, there will be lawsuit that Wells unfairly favored JP personnel in their selection . Until then, this joke will continue .
Possibly stupid question but what is a level 5? I do work here, but it's a big place and we don't all have the same lingo.
About time folks are figuring this out. Exec mentality: is NY, good; anywhere else, bad. It trickles down. If you listen for it, you notice they have incredible disdain for whatever may have worked in the past, and seem to think Agile will save us all. Sell off some of our profitable businesses, put everything in the cloud and sell us to the highest bidder. They seem to only hire Level 5's for all open positions. Don't worry: JPM would never hire from WF.
